Can you elaborate? Do you mean repair file system in TWRP?
No, I meant make a fresh install of your phone, backup your apps, make a nandroid backup in TWRP, then manually wipe system/data/cache/dalvik and then flash ROM, gapps, SuperSU ... maybe let the first boot proceed, let the phone settle and then reboot back to recovery and flash Quanta.

In case this won't work, my last advice is to flash a factory image from Google with all those wipes it provides so the sdcard too (so it means you have to backup all of your data from internal memory).

But maybe someone else would suggest some better thing.

// I know it's probably not the case but did you try download kernel manually again (do you have the correct version?), maybe check md5 checksum etc?

Problem solved, I had an older version of TWRP installed. Updating it made the kernel install work. Thanks.

New to flashing kernels

Excuse the basic questions, but I've never flashed a kernel before; I've done ROMs (on older phones) and the LTE radio patch, so I'm familiar with the basics of flashing.
1. Will flashing a new kernel require a data wipe?
2. Does this kernel conflict with the LTE radio patch, i.e. would I need to repeat the patch after updating the kernel?

Hello
1. Only wipe cache + dalvik cache
2. I don't know because i have never flashed radio.

Flashing the kernel should not interfere with LTE. (using it myself)

July treat

Hey guys, another month, another release. This might be the last release before Nougat or the new Nexus appears. (I hope so I can finally upgrade my phone XD) It is without saying that the Nexus 4 is a really great beast on it's own. Anyways, here it is:

V18 (16/07/16) :
- Merged security updates for July
- Performance improvements (From Franco's release for Flo)
- Faster boot up (From Franco's release for Flo)

Both releases are available on the regular release platforms.

For QT, I know I've been slacking but it has been a bit hard to work on it. I plan to make a maintenance release before I being my work on some overhaul based on some neat stuff seen on Google I/O. :p

Anyways, Enjoy!! :)

EDIT: Rollout paused for the moment. Back online! Sorry for the waiting. :)

Hello

Thank's for the support. :)
Upgraded to the V18 without any problem.
THe system seems to be less reactive then before, but perhaps it's during the time that it will construct the cache and dalvik has i wipe it too.

Well, flashing the kernel doesn't do anything related to that matter. You can try to wipe the cache/dalvik but it's not something that will affect that much the performance.

Hi Zaclimon thank you for your great Kernel for N4. I build PureNexus ROM for N4. I would like to include Quata Kernel as a default kernel. I request your permission to use your kernel and also your support in integration of Quanta. Hope you will help.

I got a error http://pastebin.com/dL6RXfNT. Kindly help.
I don't mind that you use Quanta for your Rom. As for the error itself, I've never seen it before. With which toolchain you try to build the rom?

Zaclimon thank you for your reply. I am using stock tool chain. Request you to let me know how to change the tool chain.

I don't know if PureNexus can build with custom toolchains, though:

1. I would put the custom toolchain (in this case Uber-TC) inside prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm
2. Modify build/core/tasks/kernel.mk to specify the path to the custom toolchain for example:

KERNEL_TOOLCHAIN := $(ARM_EABI_TOOLCHAIN)
to
KERNEL_TOOLCHAIN := path/to/custom/toolchain

Hope it helps!

Hi. I am using quanta kernel to use otg but when i tried to put my otg cable with external supply, it just charges the phone and the flash drive blinks the led light but the phone does not read the flash drive. What may be the problem?

Yes, you need either a ROM with built-in USB OTG support, or an app that does the mounting such as Stickmount from Play Store (root required).

Hello,

Can you recommend a good CPU monitoring app that displays real-time cpu usage for each core? Something like in Kernel Adiutor. I have tried several apps from play store, but so far I haven't had any luck finding any that does this simple thing. I would like to monitor cpu usage with this kernel.
