Thanks, it's perfect. I was looking for it but couldn't remember the name.

Seems that 2 cores are always online and the rest plug in only on high load. Is that the correct behaviour?

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Yep that's the expected behavior of the hotplug.

Hi @zaclimon, Thanks a lot for QUanto, While I was rocking v17 I had some of best performance+battery on Chroma ROM with stability. But with v18, things just got messed up. I flashed v18, and immediately noticed mako getting heated without any background apps. Even battery drain was significant without any apps running. The Phone won't even push charge to battery when Wifi was turned on, and phone remained damn on that time. Hence I clean flashed Chroma ROM with Quanto v18 and again this behaviour is noticed. But when I reflashed Chroma and went back v17, all mysteriously probs disappeared and device is running normal with v18. Is there anyone who experiences similar issue with latest v18 kernel?

Nope. I am running Pure Nexus with v18 and I am absolutely loving the combination. I have reduced cpu max freq to 1512 and increased gpu max to 400 and undervolted by 50mV. No unexpected heating noticed, experience is very smooth.

@zaclimon, is the kernel selinux permissive by default? At least for me it is after every reboot. Can you make it enforcing by default or add an option in Quanta Tweaks to make selinux state toggleable? So far I have been manually setting it to enforcing via terminal emulator, but having it stick on boot would be nice.

The only thing I could think of is the frequency modifications I've made but that alone wouldn't cause the problem I believe. Do you have any wakelocks on your device that could cause this?

The kernel by default is set to enforcing. There must be something that puts it to permissive. That said, I can put an option in QT to toggle SELinux state.

Has anyone else been experiencing frequent random reboots lately? Might not be kernel related, but it seems to coincide with my update from v13-v18. I tried debugging through logs and the last thing logged in each case is a truncated version of "580 660 E PowerHAL: touch_boost: failed to send: No such file or directory". That message is a log hog appearing for every touch on the phone screen (100s per minute). Any ideas for further debugging? I'm running crDroid laterst nightly

Hey guys, another month, another release. This might be the last release before Nougat or the new Nexus appears. (I hope so I can finally upgrade my phone XD) It is without saying that the Nexus 4 is a really great beast on it's own. Anyways, here it is:

V18 (16/07/16) :
- Merged security updates for July
- Performance improvements (From Franco's release for Flo)
- Faster boot up (From Franco's release for Flo)

Both releases are available on the regular release platforms.

For QT, I know I've been slacking but it has been a bit hard to work on it. I plan to make a maintenance release before I being my work on some overhaul based on some neat stuff seen on Google I/O. :p

Anyways, Enjoy!! :)

EDIT: Rollout paused for the moment. Back online! Sorry for the waiting. :)
A thought about this? Can be done something in our device? I'm a perfect sound crazy user :D

This message only means that mpdecision cannot be found, which is not related to your case. Have you flashed your rom's original kernel or Quanta Cleanup before flashing V18?

I could check if it works, though it could take some time before I take a look at it.

Also, as the dev said, OS related changes might be needed for the device to support all the features.

Though, it might be interesting. :)

I tried flashing Quanta Cleanup followed by Quanta Kernel and that actually caused me quite a bit of trouble and I had to wipe /system, and caches before flashing crDroid, Quanta and GApps. All is back to normal, but the log entry for PowerHAL remains there.

Overdue update

Hi guys, this update took a bit some time. With my internship finishing, I didn't have time to do a lot of stuff. (Only enough to upgrade my GPU -.-) As such here's the update for August even though Nougat might be released this week XD:

V19 (21/08/16)
- Merged security updates for August
- Patched Quadrooter exploit (CVE-2016-5340)
- Updated F2FS

Both releases are available from the regular channels. For those wondering, I haven't touched QT really much. I'm still searching about new design/features that could be added. Please let me know if you have some.

Enjoy!! :)

Thanks a lot man! Great work!
Speaking of Nougat... there's word of people working to port it to mako. Do you think you'll pursue reworking the kernel to suit N?
I think a lot of people will be moving on to the Nexus 2016 devices, but for those who remain, I wonder how authentic the Nougat taste will be :D

I mostly was working on it yesterday. Managed to get the build to compile but it won't boot on my N4. Surely enough, I used quanta as a base and I probably shouldn't have (Using also F2FS is kinda restrictive in this area) I'll probably try to port Nougat to Flo before to see if it works before going for Mako.

To answer your question, yes I will most likely port Quanta to Nougat when it'll become available! I also probably plan to bring Quanta over to new Nexus devices if the competition isn't too heavy. (which I doubt it will but anyways)

Awesome! Good luck with it :) You have a pretty strong following for Quanta on N4. If I upgrade to new Nexus, and Quanta is available for it, I'll almost certainly be using it!
