I am also running on same setup facing the same here.i flashed r9 kernel over RR 5.3.1, and i can't turn of backlight completely, it still turn on while being touch even i ticked the turn off backlight...of course i already compared it before i flash the kernel...
report complete!
I was also looking for a setup like that.Noticed r5 a few mins later..
any chance of the source for r5 so i can set it up so i dont have to use tegrak (hate it)
or if your bored you could do it
Been running these speeds ever since i owned it its stable at them
CPU Max Speed 1.6 ghz @ 1300mv
GPU 400 @ 1000mv
not sure what your lower speeds are
I use 160mhz @ 900mv with tegrak (only allows 2 steps)
+1 to this
What's wrong with using the current one for beta 7?
nothing, except different user have different taste over something,What's wrong with using the current one for beta 7?
You're not answering the question, though: what do you want changed and why in your opinion there should be a new one specifically for beta 7 when even the current one works just fine with it? There is no point in creating a "new" one with no changes just for the sakes of having a new one, so certainly you must be expecting some change there.nothing, except different user have different taste over something,![]()

different user have different taste over something
I think you misunderstood his question. He was asking what's wrong with the current version of Raw kernel, not the stock kernel of BETA7, which is why your answer about "different tastes" doesn't answer his question.was it obvious?
I do mention
since RAW kernel has it's own "flavour", bauner's stock has it own "taste", there's no reason "re-mentioning" whatever in the OP,
once again, no offence,
I do wonder why you kept asking the same question when the answer already stated it's definition and context,
again, people's opinions/thoughts were subjectives, it can be translated/define in many ways,
try to understand it will ya?
cheers :highfive:
Aye, that's exactly what I was asking. The current Raw-kernel works fine, I'm using it myself and I see no specific reason to make a new version just for beta 7. I mean, if there were some obvious bugs or such then sure, but I'm not aware of any bugs that'd prevent one from using the current Raw-kernel with beta 7.I think you misunderstood his question. and when to trimm...? before flashing GAPPS or after that...?Announcing Raw Kernel r9
#JeSuisCharlie edition
Changes over r8 :
* MMC_CAP_ERASE is disabled, so we can TRIM our device for better I/O performance. The official brickbug patch is merged since at least two years, it's safe.
* -50mV GPU undervolting for group B+ devices
* Compatible with CM12 beta 4
* Added a CM11 variant (a long last!)
Download :
* raw_kernel_r9_omni.zip for Omni 4.4
* raw_kernel_r9_cm12.zip for CM12 beta 4
* raw_kernel_r9_cm11.zip for CM11
Let's talk a bit about TRIM. You should do it once on /system after flashing a ROM, /data and /cache will be trimmed by Android itself. /preload is an unused partition on AOSP, you should wipe it and trim it once and for all. To make the process a lot easier, I created this flashable zip run_fstrim.zip that will trim /system, /cache, /data and /preload from the recovery. I recommend using it just after flashing a ROM (and a TRIM-enabled kernel, of course...), or right now if you have never trimmed before.![]()
After you've flashed everything else you were going to flash.and when to trimm...? before flashing GAPPS or after that...?
pardon/forgive me for my mistakenly understand then :highfive:Aye, that's exactly what I was asking. Yep, that's something I noticed when coming back from Raw Kernel TW.It is an awesome kernel, but I miss only one thing: the fast charge support. It is painfully slow to charge the battery, when not using the original AC charger with the original cable (for example in my car). It is possible to implement the fast charge support?
Thank youYep, that's something I noticed when coming back from Raw Kernel TW.
raw/AOSP is very slow and raw/TW too fast (not very good for the battery), I will adjust that soon.
