I'm using bauner's NightOwl ROM, and 'm facing problems installing your kernel. When I boot into recovery to flash it, it doesn't get recognized. On moving to the path of the kernel file, I get a message saying no files found. Help !!

Installed raw kernel r9 with NightOwl cm12 beta6, overall performance is good but with some games I notice some slowness, also when I disable button backlight from settings it is not disabled completely as it lights upon touching buttons but not the display.

After flashing this kernel and trim, note feels like a new flagship device. I had thought note is slow because of it's old processor. Thank you developers.

Can you tell me please what exactly did you install?
I have install cm11 base 2015-03-23 with trim from Lanchon.
Do I need also this kernel?
Do I have to install trim and this kernel after flashing new nightly cm11?
Thanks.

Flashed 16.03 cm11.then this kernel, then trim. Used this script zip for trimming. The script can be found in page 102 of this thread (just in case you need it)

Announcing Raw Kernel r10

Changes over r9 :
* Slightly tweaked charging current up from 450 to 550mA
* Compatible with CM12.1 preview. CM12 isn't supported anymore because the memory leaks make it too painful to use.

Download :
* raw_kernel_r10_omni.zip for Omni 4.4
* raw_kernel_r10_cm121.zip for CM12.1 preview (kudos to @bauner)
* raw_kernel_r10_cm11.zip for CM11

Keep in mind that Kernel Samepage Merging and zRAM are disabled in this kernel. These two features are trading CPU time for less memory pressure, but I'm hoping we won't need this anymore with the imminent release of Android 5.1.1 that should fix all the remaining leaks. Android 5.1 is already working quite decently! :good:

Thank you :)

I found that using different cable (and a charge DCP chip) enable to charge AC mode, with 950mAh with the older kernel too (at least the current meter shows it, and I was able to charge the phone even with running navigation with bright screen).
It is possible to apply this AC mode into the Kernel? The Dirty Unicorns 8.2 support USB AC mode switch (implemented in quick settings too).

AC mode applies 650mA current (default value in Raw TW). I chose a value in between to stay easy on the battery.

Hmm... my current meter shows it slightly different... with the supplied Samsung travel charger and cable it draws [email protected], I just checked w r10 Omni version :) The phone can take up w auto brightness in daylight with navigation (CPU runs constantly full power) around 930-960mAh. Usually the stock charger designed to give enough power to run the phone without battery (of course the battery in the phone, but not drawing energy from it, even slowly can charge). This is why would be the switch to AC USB mode from kernel (of course, with stock charger or high quality, USB mode change support 3rd party charger can do it, but the cheep cables and chargers usually not).

The stock charging current in the galaxy note is 1A with the wall charger (AC) and about 500-600 mA with usb from pc.
650 mA for AC is very slow, it will need almost four hours for a full charge, in the stock rom it need only 2,5 hours (1A x 2.5 hours = 2.5 Ah) @GeeckoDev
