Sorry it's been ages since I've last had to deal with the EFS partition and I can't remember the exact details. There should be some other threads here on XDA about S5 EFS backup/restore :)

Thanks. I was trying to restore a backup of EFS via twrp and it only gave me the option to restore it to recovery or to boot. i never succeeded in restoring my EFS partition. I ended up going back to my stock rooted touchwiz bu and then reinstalling lineageos 16.1. and even after that, I still tried one more time and I could still not get ares kernel to work (working phone calls etc) for me with lineageos. I appreciate all support and the work being done though! I would definitely try again in the future!

I will not try to provide support to anyone that cannot follow the proper bug reporting criteria.
I can not help anyone if all I'm told is "there is a problem, fix it."
Not to mention, commenting in such a manner I find extremely rude. I do not get paid or even ask for donations for my time and work on these projects. Not to mention I do own my own business and I have a 16 years old son I'm raising by myself. I do not have the time to waste chasing bugs that no one else is reporting and proper issue reporting protocol can not be followed. From now on, if proper bug reporting steps are not followed, your post WILL NOT be replied to.

I apologize if this seems rude or harsh, but there is only so much time in a day.

Havoc-OS 9.Pie v2.7 . Mods associated with the kernel , no. The default settings are.

What S5 variant?
I'm running the same rom and kernel on my kltespr (Sprint SM-G900P) with only magisk installed with no issues with reboots. Can you try to grab me a log please? So I can look deeper into this issue
