well i would like to say thanks for this great kernel. I have been running it on my 8T for months now.

Well i have a problem with the lastest kernel that was pushed the other day.
My phone started to get all laggy for no reason. this was right after i flashed the newest kernel in fkm.
whatsapp and other apps would just like frezze up when opening them. At 1st i thought it was a update that the app did it self but i checked and no update was done. I then rebooted and still was facing this crazy lag. I then decided to revert back to the one i had just before the update and my phone is running flawless again.

I was wondering has anyone else seen a problem with the newest one that was just pushed out ?

Im running stock : 11.0.10.10.KB05BA

hmmm my bad seems that when i did the revert it must have reflash the newest build again because i just checked the build number and its 112 sept 10 friday 18:01:17

so ignore my comments from above as the phone has been fine with that kernel

I think something got jacked up when flashing the kernel the 1st time and a 2nd flash fixed it :)

I am having a strange bug and I think it is a problem with this kernel (it happens to me since I updated to version r112). The sound of the notifications is not heard after a few hours. Does it happen to someone else?

Does this work on the latest version, 11.0.9.9 IN21BA?

I've been using your kernel for months. Thank you very much! Keep up the good work buddy!

blu_spark_r114 release

New build is up!

This kernel is tested for the 8 Pro and 8T variants which I have, regular OP8 in OOS 11 is said to be working fine by some users.
You can use FKM download kernel feature, just import the links bellow in the app.
FKM download configs: oos

Changelog:
  • Build with Google Clang 14.0.0 + LLD linker
  • Revert some dubious patches, general cleanup
  • Set HZ to 250
  • defconfig: regenerate and sync
  • f2fs fixes
  • wireguard updates (v20211208)
  • AnyKernel3 updates (v20211207)
  • Couple init runtime adjusts to better UX
  • For root, Magisk v23.0 or newer is mandatory

Keep in mind: I will give no active support for custom ROMs (including OOS based ones).
I am mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock stable OOS (with logs and reproducible steps to replicate the issue).

No mirrors please

Thank for the kernel! ^^

May i ask a stupid question?
So my question is why are the benefits or drawback to dropping the HZ to 250?
It is for better throughput and battery life?
You can give the complicated answer i maintain my own kernel so i'll understand ^^

Both 250 and 300 behave similar, there's not much change.
250 seems to be the best compromise between throughput and interactiveness and has since been picked up by all the new devices and mainline.
Google still ships 300 in some previous devices but on newer ones it defaults to 250 also.

Plans to update to the new .10.10 update or no relevant changes?
There's no newer kernel source atm.
And I doubt there will be, seems like small ROM changes only

    Hello!
All the latest Versions of blue_spark Kernel only supports OOS so they can not be flashed on custom ROMs as far as I know.
The last Version which was available for custom ROMS was blue_spark r51 from 16-09-2020.
Hello! Thank you very much for your kind response!

    DOWNLOAD KERNEL ZIP
FKM download configs: oos | custom
    (No mirrors please)

Setup and troubleshoot: To install just flash the zip on a stock setup with either TWRP or autoflash kernel app.
If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should restore your stock boot.img or dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
If you are upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip.

About bugs and reports: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock OOS ROM with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with added modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including stock based ones) and OOS Open Betas you're much on your own. I'm mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable OOS.
Also try not to spam the thread with OT. There's threads for all kind of stuff, use them.

Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem. You can backup your boot.img with TWRP or kernel app before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.
