blu_spark_r118 release

New build is up!

This kernel is tested for the 8 Pro and 8T variants which I have, regular OP8 in OOS 11 is said to be working fine by some users.
You can use FKM download kernel feature, just import the links bellow in the app.
FKM download configs: oos

Changelog:

Keep in mind:
I will give no active support for custom ROMs (including OOS based ones).
I am mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock stable OOS (with logs and reproducible steps to replicate the issue).

It's only available as incremental to Open Beta testers right now, and considering they only did 1 beta build, you better expect there's a bunch of **** broken..

Now that OnePlus has been swallowed by Oppo they also have immediately become ****ty with their kernel source drops, so I wouldn't expect anything for some time.

I'm honestly considering skipping it entirely and seeing how this "OnePlus x Google" OxygenOS 13 turns out. 🤔

Can you improve kernel RAM management? On a stock kernel, the ram memory management is much better. Higher score is on stock kernel.

I hope the new release will be uploaded soon, this kernel is the only thing that keeps me away to the new A12 release for my 8T.

The first stable release of a12 is the thing keeping me away from it. I reverted back to 11 because of issues with the camera. The camera app would reset itself every few seconds when open, causing any video to stop recording.

FKM, but I'm on A12 now to see if they've fixed the bugs I was having. (Hint: They haven't)
Thanks, I ended up using TWRP since I knew there wouldn't be issues.

I have no interest in moving to 12 until TWRP is fully functional. If that never happens I'll migrate the hard way if necessary. It's just so simple via TWRP if you know the process.

I don't think I've used TWRP since maybe A9? Possibly longer. Fastboot and magisk manager have been more than sufficient for my own needs.

I still like to keep up on it's development status, but it's not an essential tool for me at this point

Oneplus 8 series oos 12.1 kernel sourced free
Don't get too excited, vendor tree is like spaghetti, a generic dump and push.
There also still drivers missing like the sm8350 source.
In case of sm8350 it stayed broken even after devs callouts, so...

    DOWNLOAD KERNEL ZIP
FKM download configs: oos | custom
    (No mirrors please)

Setup and troubleshoot: To install just flash the zip on a stock setup with either TWRP or autoflash kernel app.
If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should restore your stock boot.img or dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
If you are upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip.

About bugs and reports: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock OOS ROM with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with added modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including stock based ones) and OOS Open Betas you're much on your own. I'm mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable OOS.
Also try not to spam the thread with OT. There's threads for all kind of stuff, use them.

Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem. You can backup your boot.img with TWRP or kernel app before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.
