@Freak07 got it working, I tested a build for OOS11 on my 7T Pro and it's working fine. They mentioned the same thing, OnePlus released messy sources and they had to port code to fix it, hopefully that helps other devs. The only other working kernel for OOS11 I know of is icekernel, which was actually hacked together to work on "only" 7 Pro before sources were even released somehow.
While it's working fine like you say, doesn't mean it how it's supposed to be. There's people that rip of the kernel lot's of OnePlus changes, so there's that.
I would like to keep what I can to be as close to stock as possible.

Maybe there's was some backporting in that case like some of Luk's patches, it wasn't enough for me sadly on my hacked tree.
If some more stuff is needed from backports or toolchain related, I will patiently wait on this one for now.

If you have some nice patches so I can take a look, let me know.
But I have other devices to tend to as I like to keep a nice release schedule, I can't even look at this one right now tbh.
Guess this latest couple days were just a bit tiresome.

All this could be avoided if the OP trees had all the code needed, without spaghetti stuff between trees and all that proprietary modules junk.

Looks like the patches are out. With a nice detailed post in the thread talking about the situation. Hope it helps.

Yeah thanks for the heads up!
It looks good, hope we can go forward until/if sources are sorted.

@Freak07 puts a very nice resume of the ongoing situation regarding sources and one's struggle with current state of things.
It's very frustrating to say the least.

Big shouts to him and @LuK1337 to come forward. People should appreciate the ammount of work they put on this one.

blu_spark_r151 release

New build is up!
Finally the 11 is here :)
Keep in mind, since the current situation regarding sources (that you can read about in the latest dozen posts), the vendor part of the tree is somewhat hacked.
Stuff seems to be stable, but take things with a grain of salt. But yeah, it's damn smooth :)

This kernel is unified, good to go on OP7/T/Pro (I only can test on Pro's).
You can now use FKM download kernel feature, just import the links bellow in the app :highfive:
FKM download configs: oos

Changelog:
  • Build with Google Clang 12.0.4 + LLD linker
  • Full rebase with all the usual goodies merged in
  • Synchronize codes for OnePlus 7 Oxygen OS 11.GM21AA and OnePlus 7Pro Oxygen OS 11.GM21AA and OnePlus 7T Oxygen OS 11.HD01AA and OnePlus 7TPro Oxygen OS 11.HD01AA
  • Merge backports and fixes from LuK1337 & Freak07 (Big Shouts to their efforts)
  • Build fixes and improvements from OP8 series and Pixel 4a patchset
  • Some build errors corrections
  • BACKPORT: GKI: hwtracing: Add a driver for disabling coresight clocks (backport from Pixel 5, less idle draw)
  • f2fs: shrink node_write lock coverage
  • Remove some logspam
  • defconfig: enable ZSTD
  • net/wireguard: merge v1.0.20210219
  • AnyKernel3 sync
  • For root, stable Magisk 22.0 or newer is mandatory

Keep in mind: I will give no active support for custom ROMs (including OOS based ones).
I am mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock stable OOS (with logs and reproducible steps to replicate the issue).

No mirrors please
Don't forget to hit thanks, it's free :)

Thank you :giggle:

Will it still work on OOS 10 too or is it only for 11 now?

I could possibly be wrong here but I could've sworn I saw some of these changes in Luk's source before this was pushed to OnePlusOSS today. Just want to give credit where credits due
A lot of commits are the same with some differences. Some commits even were from the OP8 source afaik. Whether OnePlus or Luk commited them separately or not, it is indeed incredible that a developer with no access to proper source code has achieved to fix a company's broken kernel source without any help by the company itself.

So yeah, Luk really achieved something here to fix what OnePlus should've done in the first place. That kind of work is what makes the Android community great (y);)

Thank you so much kiri kernel made issues on my oo7tpro, lag late startup(I think bc he has his companion module tweaks built in the kernel) yours on the other hand is snappy and has no issues. Thank you for your work.

Proximity sensor should be good now on OP7/T devices, seems to be derped stuff on the sensor node on those devices during init, sysfs stuff indeed like I previously wondered, (in this case permissions 0660->0666).
The original patch in case anyone has some interest in this particular issue: https://github.com/yaap/device_oneplus_sm8150-common/commit/351f2335b207c62eb7f33554f24272614e094e62
Thanks @ChrisFeiveel84 for the heads up on the patches and for testing in OP7T.
This need Magisk to run properly, because is injected systemlessly by the runtime backend.

    Changelog:
    • Build with Google Clang 12.0.5 + LLD linker
    • Change ultrasound node permissions (OP7/T prox sensor fix)
    • Remove some logspam
    • For root, stable Magisk 22.1 or newer is mandatory

Thank you dev for the new release & fix

    You rock brother

Before that, OOS got 11.0.2 update. Can we still use this version @eng.stk

    Yeah don't see whynot.
OP7 or 7T? Just for the sake of completeness :)

Yeah well we all should thank the ROM guys that encountered and fixed it during the A11 bringup, they're the real MVPs ;)
I just adapted to our use case.

I've been running r158 on my OP7T (11.0.0.2) since Sunday. My phone feels more responsive than it did with the stock kernel. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but I think it feels less laggy. No issues so far - battery life seems fine too.
    Seems legit 😁

    Enjoy the sparks mate.

Setup and troubleshoot: To install just flash the zip on a stock setup with either TWRP or autoflash kernel app.
If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should restore your stock boot.img or dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
If you are upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip.

About bugs and reports: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock OOS ROM with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with added modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including stock based ones) and OOS Open Betas you're much on your own. I'm mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable OOS.
Also try not to spam the thread with OT. There's threads for all kind of stuff, use them.

Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem. You can backup your boot.img with TWRP or kernel app before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.
