For camera is not necessary, because used Camera2Api full but, in my opinion, pictures and videos are better with drm fix (oreo).

Men you no need that trash program just flash it with new flasher the stock ROM is in xperifirm

At the moment I'm in stock Pie, with locked bootloader, I was interested in rooting because I needed features such as night light and the xz3 camera, but as far as I understood unlocking my bootloader to root my device will break video enhancement (not a big deal) and image settings like super-vivid mode (bigger deal since i use it daily), and camera (which would be restored updating to pie), are you telling me that there's a way to restore those functionalities without paying for Xperifix?

Super vivid Is working, video enchanted not working,
Camera in pie Is working without any drm fix, u don t Need to do anything else (with pie firmware)

U need to wait a drmfix for pie to testore video enchanted
Or flash Oreo and follow the guide on this 3d for drmfix :)

ClearAudio+ and DSEE HX are also working? Low light performance in camera is the same?

use this guide for backup and restore your TA partition.

Hi,

This mean, if you never backup the TA partition when unlock the bootloader, the full functionallity camera is lost, android pie also?

Hi!
So, for oreo there is a drm fix (xperifix or the drmfix in this thread) that restore the major functionality like camera (no green pics), video enchanting ecc..
For pie you don't need a drm fix for the camera (but video enchanting for now isn't working) (camera is working fine without drmfix for pie)

So if u never backup the TA partition (like me) you are ok with drmfix + oreo or pie (in terms of functionality)

Flashing problems

Hey guys, I'm getting this message when trying to flash twrp via fastboot:
"remote: flashing is not allowed in lock state"
But my bootloader is unlocked. Anyone care to help? Been trying everything.. :(

    Detailed instructions-
    ##############################

    Please install all drivers and ADB files needed.

    1. Download to PC XperiFirm_5.3.6_(by_Igor_Eisberg).
    2. Download to PC newflasher_v11.
    3. Download to PC and unzip XZ-Premium-G8141/G8142-Kernel+DRM+patch+Magisk+47.1.A.xx.xxx.zip.
    4. copy the 4 zip files to the any device microSDcard folder.
    5. Download to PC twrp 3.2.1-0-maple and copy the img file to ADB folder.
    6. Run XperiFirm and download latest firmware update, for G8141 or G8142
    7. copy the newflasher.exe to the firmware downloaded folder.
    8. power off the device, press and hold vol- and plug the USB cable some seconds, review the green led is on, bootloader mode.
    9. run the newflasher copied on the firmware folder.
    10. unplug the USB cable when the process finished.
    11. press and hold vol+ and plug the USB cable some seconds, blue led is on, flash mode.
    12. open a window "cmd" and go to ADB folder.
    13. run the command "fastboot devices" to check the device is showed.
    14. run the command "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-0-maple.img".
    15. unplug the USB cable and reboot to twrp recovery (press and hold vol- + power button).
    16. On twrp menu, go to "Advanced" and "File Manager" and copy from microSDcard folder the 4 zip files to root "/" internal storage.
    17. install the 1-kernel and reboot to recovery.
    18. install the 2,3,4 zip on order and reboot.
    19. enjoy

    Good News for all Xperia Users getting/having official Android 9 from SONY. THE CAMERA WORKS WITH UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER! No need to fix DRMs anymore on Android 9 Xperia Devices! Looks like SONY doesn't Support Things like XperiFix (Making Money with a DRM Workaround). Hopefully do we now get many more Users and Developers on Xperia Devices again! HAIL SONY lol
