Well, so it intentional that the tristate is not set to Always on?
Without charging it won't flash, only if a notification also vibrates the phone
There is not specific reason this setting is like this. I will set always on and let you know if that was the issue.
Thanks for your patience

To make it easier to setup flashlight notifications, adding presets to the config app :)
Brilliant! Makes it easier to setup:laugh:
Still can't find the culprit. It does work but not all of the time. Sometimes the notification do not show up in companion app thus flashlight doesn't blink. I will exclude both apps from any hibernate of optimize setting to be sure it runs in background. Keep you posted!

Do you have vibration notification set for the application? Maybe that could help.

I think there might be different type of notifications in typeapp maybe, and one works while the other not?

How to do this?
There's two ways since I wrote the original post:

- if using TWRP, backup boot partition
- or, download OTA full zip from official OnePlus site, and extract the image from the payload.

Not easy I must admit. But also there are some people who upload stock boot image on to sourceforge, that could be useful as well.

?
Many thanks dev for the rom. I am running stock and want to try this kernal, without root. If I use banking apps will I get issues with this kernal? Also those using it, what are the main improvements you have found over stock kernal please?

Depends on the app. Some apps don't like unlocked boot loader and safety net being only basic pass. Those might need actually magisk hide. On the OnePlus 8 it's not possible to hide this with kernel only as it ruins fingerprint scanner unfortunately.

Other apps are okay with this, and other apps even try to detect magisk and magisk hide too.

So it depends on how your banking app is actually behaving.

Hi im giving this kernel a try, (trying all to compare).
If i have root, do i need to install the Companion & config app? Or can i simply use the EXKM app instead?

You need the companion and configuration apps installed
Unless you don't want to use the extra ability the kernel has.

All the problems I reported earlier are solved. Installed the latest version OS with 1.24 and it works flawless now. Not sure what the culprit was but I guess a hickup in the OS. Thanks a lot.
Is there any chance a "charge led" can be animated with a pixel on the screen? I have no idea if this is a kernel driven option ?

Edit: the subject of this thread still says 1.23. Needs an update?
