Seems like an update is available for U11+ Europe: 1.24.401.7
If I manage to take the ota - I still have some doubts concerning twrp and magisk, but I haven't finished reading yet - so after the update should I refrain to flash your kernel again? (no CleansSlate = no need to re-flash twrp)
I'd think it would work with the update, but as I cannot test, it's not sure. If you happen to test it, please report back. Thx :good:

Thank you very much for chiming in. If I face an issue it's just an assumption, until somebody confirms it. Unfortunately the U11+ doesn't receive a lot of attention by the community, so often only a single user brings something up and tbalden has to rely on us for proper reports. Can't pronounce often enough how much I appreciate tbaldens work on a device, that he doesn't owns. I am amazed how tbalden achieves this level of stability and perfection without testing the kernel builds.
I was busy during the evening, just returned to my desktop, otherwise I would have debugged it earlier. Then it has to be Magisk related. Wondering which module is breaking Bluetooth? The only one that I could think of is crossbreeder lite, but that module doesn't touch anything connectivity related or I totally missed that? Will start my research from there.

Have to ask tbalden for apology, wasn't a smart move to come to a conclusion without chasing my setup through a proper debug routine. 1.24 RUU.zip just booted up, will flash TWRP and Cleanslate 1.7.6 and edit this post afterwards. Still thinking about downgrading. That white navigation bar just breaks the esthetics of the UI.:silly: Tbalden is still facing that Google Play Services drain introduced with the December security patch, unless I find a proper 1.24 changelog with some convincing improvements in it, I'll just go back to the firmware build the device shipped with.
Update: Bluetooth is working fine. Issue was caused by the magisk module, which isn't tested on 8.x.

which one? same crossbreeder?
as for the ota update - did you manage to do it without ruu?
I tried to revert to stock recovery and stock boot image but even with that the ota stopped at 24% - maybe I should have also reverted kernel to stock...
still I've seen somebody in the unofficial twrp thread for u11+ saying he managed to do it with only reverting to stock recovery (I don't know if there is any difference between flashing magisk in twrp versus patching boot image through magisk installer) @tbalden - sorry for the off topic but the threads for our device are pretty thin and I try to gather as much info as possible
best regards

Hey guys! I'm quite new to HTC (was always a Samsung fanboy, but needed something new, that's great too and got my HTC 5 days ago).
After struggling for ~10 hours to get TWRP working I was finally able to flash this kernel, which I like very, very much @tbalden!
Anyways I have one thing, that really is a thorn in my eye - which is the HTC camera video recording restrictions (Hyperlapse ~44 minutes; 4k ~6 minutes). Since I take a lot of 4k and hyperlapse videos for my YouTube channel (you're all welcome to follow me :D ) this is really a total downer for me personally.

I know from other phones and custom kernels, e.g. early Samsung phones, that there is/might/could be a way to eliminate these restrictions within the camera app. So I'd carefully like to ask, whether this could be implemented in future updates or not? Would this even be possible on kernel side or would this be ROM related?

I know this is much asked work for only a single, little user, but maybe others think this would be a good idea too! I would be really grateful if anybody would like to chat or discuss about this :)

Kind regards from germany and keep U'ing <3

hi,
great to see you around.
Actually my first guess about the restriction is that it should be something in the camera app. Currently we have no custom rom or modded apps, but sounds like something to achieve in one of those.

Thanks very much for answering! I would've guessed that it would be only achievable within the camera app. What a shame! Anyways thank you so much for your great kernel! More or less unfortunately I'll move on to the P20 Pro which I already pre-oredered (changing phones more often than boxershorts hehe), but great to know that there're still good developers on this site :) So keep it up and maybe see you on another device in the future :)

Nice choice. I kinda like the device.
I'm waiting for HTC to show the flagship card hearing some great rumors.
