TWRP is now able to read the internal storage, so we don't need an external SD card to flash a kernel, it's also not required anymore to format data if you want to flash magisk. This would also give us the possibility to flash a custom ROM.

I use the legal channels continental version, can you use your updated version? I remember last time I swiped a version, but the phone was stuck in the startup screen and kept rebooting. Was it a version conflict or the machine could not recognize the programming?

The u12+ is a bit more intetesting but it will take a while to come to my country and will cost much more than u11+

I couldn't really decide which one's best of the three.
U11 front fingerprint reader is not a small feat in my eyes.
U11plus killing it with excellent camera and battery.
U12 back looks crowded for my taste, but the edge sense 2 could be interesting.

Yep, I will have to use double tap screen to wake, btw is your kernel enabling it for any phone position?
Can we use a face unlock port from pixel or u12+?

Don't you think this could be back-ported? Maybe even by HTC itself (should they care), I don't think there are hardware-related difference for that.

I think they added some kind of magnetic sensor for the "taps"?
It does not need squeeze for the newest edge sense features. So I'd guess no for the most part, but I am just guessing yet.

About the face unlock, I'd guess it's a possibility, if it's solely based on the image passed by the camera (and it should be that, as there's no iris scanning in the u12+), but it being dual it might be still not possible.
A ROM developer could tell when it's tried, till then it's just speculation.

Actually it works well on a table, though holding the u11+ in landscape mode you need 4 taps.
Also is your kernel giving an immersive mode for older games and apps that are not 18:9? I end up with black bars

That's a good question. I would think if it's possible HTC will try to do so,. When u12+ kernel sources will be out, it might give some hints related to this.
