512M right on the dot.

This means that in theory, Fenny and I have flashable stock and stock rooted images now. We'll know in a few hours. My AT&T store doesn't open for 45 more minutes and I'm not sure what discounts I may have available. If I get the right deal, I'll flash from my laptop, dump kernel, and upload the kernel from Panera. :p
Cold coffee. :p
There's CyanogenMod since yesterday for the AT&T version. That was fast! lol

Hey E! I work for att and I can tell you that they are not going to give you a fan discount on your phone. It's only good for a discount on your voice plan. However, you can go to an authorized retailer and ask them to give you a little price discount. If you are the primary account, then they make 25 or 30 off your data, 20-30 off your unlimited messaging and 30-90 off your voice plan depending on what tier your on. So I think getting a 25 dollar discount would be fine. They could careless about your fan discount. It has nothing to do with anything...

If you had the top tier voice plan with unlimited messaging and 25 or 30 dollar data then i would make 150 bucks off your phone. Every authorized dealer company has different commissions for their employees but I was just saying you could ask for a little price break, never hurts.

Pm me if you have any questions sorry this was off subject.

Thanks. I have, in theory, a stock rooted Heimdall-flashable image now.

Less than an hour until my AT&T store opens - hopefully they give me some sort of FAN discount. :)

BTW, one small question (already PMed you this) - what is the partition size of /system?
Are you able to pull the PIT file from heimdall?
i get an error connecting to the device

No errors here, however the image I flashed is not booting.

The system dump that was provided was created using tar instead of dd and might have some permissions issues of some sort. Can someone who has flashed get a system dump in the following manner?

First, find out what partition /system is on by running mount in an ADB shell:
Code:
mount
Once you have identified the system partition's device, run the following
Code:
dd if=/dev/systempartition of=/sdcard/system.img bs=1M
where systempartition is the block device found with the previous command.

Once you get it, zip it up and post it to multiupload or some other public fileshare please.

Maybe you can do: dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 of=/sdcard/system_dump.img bs=4096
Zip that up and upload here.

EDIT: it is dev

Maybe you can do: dd if=/deb/block/mmcblk0p9 of=/sdcard/system_dump.img bs=4096
Zip that up and upload here.
I can't at this point - my /system has already been overwritten with an (apparently) bad flash.

Still investigating...

SWEET. It worked this time. Something about my rooting technique hosed it. Bone stock works fine. Now to root.

Dammit. Again, trying to integrate root breaks it. At least I'm on the right track.

System is normally read-only and contains no personal info. Personal info is in /data

Our tar-based dump MIGHT be OK - but it's better safe than sorry to have a dd-based dump.

Edit: BINGO! I'm rooted via /system with a stock kernel. Turns out the reference ZIP I was using for installation of root was bad. It installed su to /system/bin and symlinked to /system/xbin - this caused the device to fail to boot. I pulled su and Superuser.apk from my Infuse and put them in the correct place and I'm good.

I have a stock zImage dump and an initramfs dump. However my laptop battery is running low and the wifi here SUCKS, so I won't upload them until I get home.

That'll be 1-2 hours from now.
