On the first few posts, it is mentioned (for the alpha builds, way ago in time) that for future releases we need to flash supersu first and then flash elementalx. So someone pls confirm, 1. Flash stock kernel > 2. Flash supersu zip, 3. Flash ElementalX zip ---is this process right as of now (1.14) ?

Yes if you're using the stock rom. If not, dirty flash your rom (this installs your rom's base kernel) then flash ElementalX. If you have not flashed a custom kernel, just flash ElementalX.

screnn dimmer on improves battery life?
whats is best on or off?
Only if you use it indoors mostly, or set it to the absolute minimum brightness level.
The auto and minimum brightness setting on this phone is quite bright so I think most people use the dimmer to temper the screen brightness. It allows you to set a much less bright minimum level than on stock.
I think the effective battery saving for most people isn't that impressive but it really depends on how and where you use your phone.
If you're outside a lot you probably won't see much difference in battery usage. Indoors or in a dark environment you can set a much less brightness level and expect the most savings.

Thanks for sharing this! I've been using the AmanuensisV10 profile in exkernel manager with elementalx and xtrasmooth rom.

Can't believe I'm getting 5hrs of screen on time. With zero lag and better than stock performance....it's like a whole new phone?
I'm not using any profiles, stock settings with input boost 0, touch boost disabled, battery monitor disabled, backlight dimmer disabled. You can see my current battery persistence in attachment.

I'm curious on what you people have for swappiness value and how that's working for you.
And what's value recommended for various options such as thermal throttling, core control on/off and thermal throttling values

Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing bad behavior from the kernel/app?

My big cluster is non-existent, the values I put down for apply on boot don't work, everything is malfunctioning...

If it says n/a, I'm pretty sure it means they're turned off so the phone doesn't overheat. That happens to me in every kernel app I've tried on my 5x

The app works perfectly fine. All values apply on boot unless something is interfering (eg: Greenify)

If the big cluster shows NA it because it's offline due to thermal driver. When the cores come back online, the settings will be available again. Please don't mess with things trying to "fix" this. It is the intended behaviour and your phone will work best if you just let it work as intended.

    No offence

    Hi,

I don't have Greenify installed or anything else of that kind.
I am also not attempting to "fix" anything. As for settings applied on boot - even my speaker volume gain in Sound is resetting (and I'm pretty sure that isn't due to thermal driver).

In any case - I wasn't complaining. I was asking.
I dirty flash CM13 nightlies every day (well... every day they come out...). I do not expect everything to always work.
I just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing the same.

Thanks for your hard work! It is appreciated.

Are you allowing a few minutes after boot for the settings to apply before opening the app?

For maximum compatibility with all ROMs, ElementalX uses your existing ramdisk.
Do NOT flash this over other custom kernels!
