Anyone know if anyone else is doing kernel development for the phone yet? I was thinking of trying to get in contact with the makers of EX Kernel or Franco to see if they would support it.

If anyone wants to help me you can find the source code here

https://github.com/eoghan2t9/android_razor_cheryl

It's based off the latest code from razer all I've done it upstream the code to 4.4.111

I am getting build errors which I plan on fixing over the coming days etc and hopefully add anykernel support. If users want to help out let me know and I'll setup a github group so you don't need to issue pull requests etc.

?
To be dead it would have to be alive in the first place.
:(
I agree with you, I wish razer would take a leaf from oneplus, I mean just look at the dev section. The only reason I didn't buy is the phone having been locked down and lack of dev support and yet I so wanted this phone.

It is really not that bad as it is mostly stock android, BUT I am really missing substratum and center time as well as a few other things.
I'm realllllly missing being able to flash ROMs and play around with settings you don't get on stock ROMs. That and great themes.

Urghh....

awesome, i can't wait!!!!!!!! =d =d =d
Just have to get twrp up and running then get anykernel configured. I won't be committing kernel.org changes to bring the kernel version up to 4.4.120 until the Oreo kernel drops just so it makes it easier for me lol. Then I can test if the kernel even boots ?

Lets hope that they release the oreo kernel source on par with the release of oreo (and let's hope that they also release oreo factory images!!!).

Battery management on this phone kernel is not so great, on my old S8+, battery lasted for 1 day (I always had 15-20% before going to sleep). With this phone, even tho the battery is bigger, I barely get home with 5-10%.

There's definitely a battery drain issue in the MR3 builds I noticed it once I updated to the latest build. What's causing the drainage as of yet I don't know but I plan to look into it at some stage.
