Since there is no any newer kernel for T970/975,we should give a go.
Here we go to test...

SM-T970
Android 11
T970XXU2BUF5
stock firmware, not working, freeze on boot
😔
Samsung has not published sources for this firmware yet, so I can't be sure if T970 works with it. Thats why there is no support yet.

Perhaps BUC or BUE as a source could do ? Actually, firmware versions are mostly only about security issues updates rather then hardware code changes.
It happend before on my various devices that older firmware kernel branch works with newer firmware releases.

New security features produce the main issues.

Your kernel boots on my SM-T976B. Since I don't use telephony-related stuffs at the moment I cannot test cellular connectivity, but for now it seems most stuffs are working fine.

The BUF5 update made the bootloader screen landscape instead of portrait which is the only good part I could think of.

Still, I'm against updating the device any further as it appears Samsung has started intentionally disabling hardware functions (such as camera) for unlocked bootloaders on recent devices (namely Z Fold 3), and there are signs of it coming to other devices as well.

T976B is the same stuff as T975 but without 5G support. Everything should work except 5G.

Thanks for your report btw.

Any chance KCAL support is being worked on?

BUI1 sources are not published yet, my kernel is based off BUF5 version now, so I am not suprised that it does not boot..
