Fresh install of 07/03/2018 Linage on Nexus 6 (Shamu)
Enabled root
Installed EX Manager app
Installed ElementalX 5.21 (default download from EX Manager)
Phone boots into TWRP
Aroma options come up, and I select all the default options.
Phone reboots, no pin request, lineage boot logo just goes and goes... gave it 10 minutes

Anyone else?

what was said but you should read before posting, this has been answered an endless number of times over many months.

just type linage+bootloop into the search field and there you get the lot, either on XDA search or google search.

@flar2 Is there a text file to edit to apply changes on boot without using the app? Or is this automatically done when changing the settings through the text files?

Device: Shamu (Nexus 6)
ROM: AOSIP (https://get.aosiprom.com/shamu/AOSiP-8.1-Official-shamu-20180709.zip)
ElementalX: ElementalX-N6-5.08?

I attempted to install the latest version of the ElementalX kernel onto my device because my camera wasn't responding with the stock kernel from AOSIP. I get to the AOSIP animated boot screen and it just sits there spinning its wheels. Below is a link to the logcat.

search bootloop and/or compatibility in this thread and you get an idea

Thanks for this tip.

It's not so much a bootloop as it is a bootlock.

If there are compatibility issues, it would be kind to the users if it was stated both within the app as well as on the web page before downloading. I downloaded and installed from within the app and everything in there made it seem as if it would be a functioning and fully working kernel for the device and version of Android I'm using.

Hopefully the log I provided can help shed some light on the issue and a solution can be provided to expand its compatibility.

NO

but what you can do is:

I agree. It'd be so nice if people would apply a little common sense and thought before showing the world how lazy they are. This person was lucky that such a tolerant person like yourself replied. I was going to give an accurate, though pedantic, cruel, and serves him right answer of "yes". ?

.

Tried but sorry I cannot see where I can find the supported ROM list.

In the first post I can see "MultiROM support" and it is providing the kernel 5.05 for Android 8.1 (Oreo), also I have purchased EX kernel manager, it prompted me to download ElementalX-N6-5.21, as I know the official ROM ended at Android 7.1.1 (N6F27M), so may I ask what kind of 8.1 Oreo ROM which is elementalX supporting now?

Thanks.

there is no such thing like a supported rom list:

a) i answered your question, the answer is and remains: NO not compatible with LOS roms

b) you did not ask for a "supported rom list" but asked whether it works with LOL 15.1 and again the answer is: NO

c) if you had asked for a "supported rom list" the answer would still have been: NO for both.

perhaps you simply try to accept the "NO" as a fact and go from there ?

the part about searching and reading was meant to make you ware of the fact that this question (the one you asked) has been asked, discussed and answered and endless number of times in this thread as well as in most LOS based rom threads.

and guess what, the answer is and has always been: NO not compatible

end of story i hope, move forward by either looking for AOSP based roms or by living with the kernel that comes with the rom or by searching and reading about compatible kernels.

OK thanks for your "detailed" advice for my simple question.

Anyway, just a friendly and personal comment to @flar2 now...thanks for the hard work, happy to support your project by purchasing the app even it is not compatible with the ROM that I am using now, it would be great if probably there is a compatibility list (something like franco kernel) or auto-detection in the EX kernel manager app (based on other users report) which may tell us the running ROM is compatible with your kernel or not, it might help other users on wasting their time and asking duplicate questions in this thread, also save time for the users (like magnamentis) on answering duplicate questions.

Thanks again.

I'm super willing to give this kernel a try, but I recently upgraded to a Pie ROM. Do y'all have plans for Pie compatible releases on shamu?

    Installation

    1. Flash in recovery

For maximum compatibility with all ROMs, ElementalX uses your existing ramdisk.
Do NOT flash this over other custom kernels!
You should only flash ElementalX over the kernel that came with your ROM!!!

    Sweep2wake:
    disable = 0
    sweep right = 1
    sweep left = 2
    sweep up = 4
    sweep down = 8

Add them together. For example, to enable sweep2wake in every direction:
    echo 15 > /sys/android_touch/sweep2wake

    Sweep2sleep:
    disable = 0
    sweep right = 1
    sweep left = 2
sweep left or right = 3

    eg: enable sweep2sleep left
    echo 2 > /sys/android_touch/sweep2sleep

    Doubletap2wake:
    enable = 1
    disable = 0

    eg: enable doubletap2wake:
    echo 1 > /sys/android_touch/doubletap2wake

    Update!!!

-Add camera launch gesture, activated by swiping down when the screen is off. For this to work, you must have "Press power button twice for camera" enabled in settings. All the same caveats as other wake gestures apply to this feature.

-Fix reboot if wake gesture is enabled and screen times out right after boot

-Prevent BCL driver from hotplugging (I think this will fix the third and fourth cores coming back online with performance gov)

-Fix elementalx.conf, it wasn't saving properly for use with express version (express version wasn't keeping settings)

    Download:
    ElementalX-N6-3.08

    Changes:
    -add camera launch gesture
    -improve stability
    -stop BCL hotplug
    -fix elementalx.conf/express version

    Update!!!

I have removed the enforcing option from the installer. Selinux is enforcing by default, just as it was before. Removing this option will allow you to use setenforce again. There is no reason to run in permissive mode, but if you must, then use the permissive.zip found here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952602503

    Download:
    ElementalX-N6-3.10

    Changes:
-remove enforcing option (use permissive.zip if necessary)
    -increase default input boost time
