don't work USB with siyahkernel for i777
I just got home and upon plugging in via USB, computer no longer recognizes the device. It shows, 'MTP-Initialization' in the notification bar which I don't ever recall seeing. This is with USB Debugging off. If I turn it on, I don't get any message in the notification.

Either way, I can no longer connect via USB.

Hmm same thing is happening to me. Also note that it can't find the sdcard partition so I can't flash it..

It was at the bottom of the list on the cwm page for install from sd page. It took me a bit to find it also.

Erm, no, I mean CWM can't locate /sdcard/ and I just tried to get to internal sd card and then cwm crashed. I restored root by using ota root keeper because I knew I had a back up there, so that was lucky. If I can't get CWM to work with the internal sd (hoping that Siyah mounts the sd card there now) then I'm going to try to move the restore zip to the system partition and go from there.

Unnamed 1.3.1 btw.

EDIT: Alright, Siyah seemed to remap the sdcard to /emmc/ and I'm currently going to reinstall unnamed, then wipe, then reinstall siyah. Woo.

EDIT 2: Still having the same issue where the computer won't see the device and it's saying MTP-Initialization. Sigh, flashing back. I would've loved this kernel :(

uh oh...well, im not home right now, so we'll see what happens when i connect my phone to my pc.
I think an easy test to see if you're having my issue is to boot into CWM and try to "choose zip from sdcard," though I guess it makes sense that it now connects to the internal sd card. Though, this has somehow broken adb for me and USB mounting. Sigh.

Have you tried downloading international drivers? I'm not by a pc to try it.

I'm on a Mac so I'm pretty sure I didn't have to install drivers in the first place to see the device. I looked through the original Siyah thread and it seems like the author disabled MTP and you're supposed to enable usb debugging to get USB mounting to work (which obviously didn't work). I'm guessing the MTP-Initialization was the phone staling while trying to get MTP to work, and USB debugging made it charge-only. I would say if you're willing to take a risk, go for it, but it still seems to have bugs in it. It's easy enough to fix, but it did take 45 min.

HOW TO FIX EARLIER ISSUE: Boot into CWM -> Install zip from SdCard (paraphrasing here) -> Choose from internal sd card -> your rom zip file -> install. Then, just wipe cache and dalvik cache and you should be good to go!
