Hey Kadin , those are awesome numbers for 1.4. What governor were those tests on? You are not OC your GPU are you? That's one of the reasons why I was blown away by the kernel when I first tried it.

Have you tried downloading international drivers? I'm not by a pc to try it.

No go... I had the same issue. The phone doesn't even recognize that it is connected to a USB data connection. The international drivers didn't fix it. I didn't expect it to given the phone doesn't even recognize the connection. It charges, but that's it.

...back on Entropy's Excellent Kernel. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

It was on Conservative and didn't mess with the GPU clock at all. :D

I installed this on GalnetMIUI 2.11.26, and so far everything seems to work fine. I've also noticed that in the battery stats, Android OS hardly registers where before it would be the highest use. Maybe it's just being masked, I don't know. It seems like the phone wakes up a lot less than it did on the CM7 kernel. According to BetterBatteryStats, things like RILJ Dialer and a couple of others that were constantly waking up my phone no longer seem to.

I've only had it installed for a couple of hours, but it will be interesting to see how things look overnight.

That's crazy man, you are getting results very close to me
even though I was on 1.6 conservative. Can you test it on 1.6 and tell me what you are seeing? Also what rom are you using?

Well the Quadrant was actually 1.6 that I originally posted, I grabbed the wrong one when I posted it. As to CF-Bench and Antutu, I can't get either of them to complete (both keep rebooting my phone) on 1.6 and I'm using System Tuner to change the speeds so no option for 1.5 - if there even is one. But those were indeed 1.4 as I did them back to back and you can see the speed posted in the CF-Bench screenshot. I'll run them both again in a few and post updated shots. Oh and I'm running UnNamed 1.3.1 as indicated in my sig. ;)

[EDIT]Ok just ran these again at 1.4 conservative. 1.6 simply won't complete on either for me. :(

Why the heck is this in General. This should have been in development. OP did xda move your thread? This is fantastic news by the way. I am glad i decided to look in general otherwise i would have never found out the news

yep, instead of "choose zip from sd" i have to "choose zip from internal sd"
Its exactly as it should be. The internal is the internal. sd is the removable. This is a huge fix for me. One thing in recovery the home button and menu button do not work. not a huge deal but hard to get used to. I miss the home button for enter

This looks promising. I'm not trying to be the pessimist here, but Quadrant scores and the like don't mean ISH! Real world performance, etc will be the real key. How does it perform? Buggy? Crashes? FC's? Time will tell.

I cannot boot into cwm recovery unless i use the three finger hold. If i use quick boot, or rom manager or any other other form of reboot recovery it kicks me into the stock recovery and not cwm recovery. Anyone else notice this?

I decided to post this here because it was meant to be an announcement about an i9100 kernel port that was for i777. I've been testing the pre-release i777 Siyah port for Gokhanmoral for about 24 hours when I made the post. Initially there was an AC charging glitch with the prior version but once Gokhanmoral fixed that, I reported back that everything was stable enough for the public release. I thoroughly checked the functions of phone calls, data connection, wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, camera, and email sync to make sure everything was fine. He then went ahead and ask me to make the announcement. I thought this was the most appropriate forum because i'm not a developer, just wanted to spread the news :)

yeah, its kind of weird having to use the power button instead of home to select, but i'll get used to it.

Thanks for the clarification Kadin, I guess my phone is not broken then haha :) thought it might have been getting weaker than when I first got it!

Battery life seemed to be going down pretty fast. But I've been messing with alot of things on my phone, so I can't say for sure it was the kernel. Anyone else? How is battery life holding up for you?

Based on my tests so far, its very close to Entropy's DD which was my previous kernel. But like you said I've been messing around with my phone and doing all kinds of bench tests the last 36 hours, barely slept last 2 days as I've been testing and playing around with this for Gokhanmoral before it became public. My battery seems to be draining a little fast too but I'm not sure if its the kernel or my heavy use, only time will tell.

Does this kernel have support cwm? if so what version?5.0.2.xx?

Edit: it does, just read features in original thread.

There are definitely some quirks that need to be worked out but we are on the right path. a path that i leading to a merge between i9100 and i777. Alot of things are now working like they are supposed to such as installing and backup/restores in cm to sd=external and internal=internal. CWM Manager is now fully compatible with our phones (for those who dont know this a rom manager alternative) and other various things.

Here are the quirks:
1. MTP initializing bug - dont know what that is but i cant mount my sd
2. CWM recovery no longer uses home button as enter, instead use power button
3. Restore backup/nandroid md5 error
4. ...
