Initial observation :

** The phone is not getting hot as it used to get.... I was used to the phone getting hot at its back (especially in the upper part ) when surfing web on 3G... It doesn't seem to heat that much now...

** Used 5 different tabs on chrome, all of them were not mobile optimized sites... And the phone didn't hang/freeze at all.. Was used to having problems with Chrome before...

For Battery performance & overall system performance it's still too early to judge...

Anyway, Great Job @Lanchon , You're awesome, you're with out a device, and doing all of this... Can't even think of what you gonna when you get you're friend's old device .... Hopefully we get official omni 5.0 now...
Same experiences here. I'm on Dec 19th nightly with the corresponding kernel. Battery life good but I've only been using it for a day.
checkout the CM kernel, apply my patches, u r done!
Some of us aren't programmers but enthusiasts or power users, like myself. I have no programming experience and definitely no github or kernel programming. That's why I love xda, we're all at different levels but we produce some awesome stuff.

I'm always willing to test and the s2 is my daily driver.

This sounds all great and should solve all issues on my daughters phone. I just don't get how to flash it!? Have I to embed the sources into the cm11 zip or have I to compile it or can I flash the zip content via Odin... I feel very stupid

There a flashable zip which you easily flash via recovery...

Check out Lanchon's AFH link..

But why is this posted then? I'm still confused. What file is a flashable zip for m12 build?

The one your looking for from the Android file host link in the original post is kernel-Lanchon-FPBug-20141218-cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-i9100.zip

Now flash that after flashing the m12 Rom. Or you can just flash the kernel only if your daughters phone is already running cm 11 m12 on a Galaxy s2 gt-i9100.

Many thanks! The phone is already on cm11 M12, I was just not sure about the right kernel file because of Lanchons comment.

You're welcome. For safety sake I'd do a backup in your clockwork recovery before flashing anything. Just in case.

Lanchon's comment was about kernel source files from which he compiled the kernel.
You only need to flash lanchon's kernel zip for m12 available on AFH!

I think it also fixes the extsdcard freeze bug, i was experiencing since cm11 days!

That's exactly what this kernel is for, a fix for music bug, sd card bug either way it's the same problem that was causing it.
