Same issue also.

I've been having the same wake from deep sleep issue also, but have been hesitant to post here as I also just set up the exposed module around the same to me as the new kernel. Any suggestions Arshull? Works great otherwise!

Deep Sleep

Same issue here I thought the battery was dead :silly: plugged it in and it still had a good 35% charge so I restarted and it was fine
I've set slowest CPU speed to 200 Mhz and I'm Overclocking to 1.7GHz as at 1.9 Ghz I found the tablet to be running a little to warm for my tastes.
I have not had the sleep issue again but still early. will report back if the settings I used fixed the issue

Update just had it again had to hold power to restart device.
Just as a note I have also had the the 'Crossbreeder zip' installed since installing the rom.

Hey Everyone-

Sorry for the delay in responding.... been insanely busy, but I have been reading everyone's messages.

Regarding Batt drain - this kernel is now overclocked to 1900. Running at faster speeds will drain the batt faster. You are able to tweak the power usage per frequency, so I recommend adjusting (in small amounts) until you find the balance you are looking for. Also, the Crossbreeder files do help greatly with several aspects.... definitely need to flash that on this or any other ROM/Kernel.....

Regarding the black screen..... I'm looking into this and will hopefully have a fix on the next release.

Keep in mind, this is the first modded kernel for our devices. I'm trying to provide the best features that allow performance and usability to our devices, but there is not a road map. I'm having to do this from scratch.... no one else is providing any similar solutions (that I know of). There may be pros/cons for any adjustments & mods - it's up to you whether you want to use it or not and if the pros outweigh the cons. Not every new feature will be 100% perfect, but I'm working on it and will get as much ironed out as possible. Samsung's source is VERY buggy and has a lot of problems, so some of these problems are magnified as we speed up the device..... I can try to resolve this but ultimately, the "garbage in/garbage out" theory applies.

Considering the benefits of your kernel, the one or two minor issues are well worth it for now. Trust me when I say we're glad your putting all this work in to the Tab 8.0. I'm personally amazed how far you've come along with it in such s short time! The forum would be nonexistent without you! Keep up the great work. Thanks Arshull

New Version/Update - v13.10.28

I've updated the OP with the newest version......

Version: 13.10.28
- Added Cron and Int'd functions and scripts to Kernel (This allows swap/zRam and many other performance tweaks to be aligned with the kernel's features) **** THIS WILL ERASE EXISTING INT.D SCRIPTS****
Int'd Scripts Added:
- Swap/zRam Implementation (Run script in terminal emulator once and it will be on until turned off - thanks definitive!!!!)
- Performace & Battery tweaks
- ZipAlign Apps at boot
- Cron memory cleanup scheduling (hourly, daily & weekly)
- SQLite tweak upon boot
- Permissions set at every boot
- GalaTab3 Logging enabled
- Other various tweaks to maximize performance
- Increased eMMC SdCard Readahead speeds to 3072
- Several tweaks, adjustments and updates to existing code. Some items updated to Samsung's new i9500 versions/revisions
- Fixed the CPU Frequency limit when booting. Will now boot at max CPU limit rather than a flat 1600mhz
- Modified CPU logic function so the processor is more adaptive to actual processing needs
- Improved and Modified PM/Sleep registers and functions. Should not have problems waking device to a black screen anymore
- Added additional support for wireless modem features - Allows external modems and bluetooth dongles to be connected via USB
- Added Android Graphic Fence feature/function from AOSP - allows graphics and the media logic to run smoother
- Added Root FS Slave restrictions so the Davik Cache can mount system wide storage and utilize the memory more efficiently
- Adjusted signal reporting so that it show more accurately
- Modified writeback protocol so the memory is freed correctly an is not held for an indefinite time until user operations are suspended
- Transitioned to ASM Atomic memory allocations from the standard Linux version. Much more efficient....
- Disabled several debugging functions that were useless and took up CPU and Memory resources
- Several other tweaks, but I'm way too tired to remember them.....

Experiencing a very pleassant speed and battery life balance. No more locks after waking from deep sleep. Thank you for this kernel. Just one thing the steps to enable zram are not working for me. Please advise, thanks in advance and keep up the good job.

The sm-t310 is wifi only. If u are flashing on any model but the 310, you will have several problems.

no wonder since it has no modem driver.. would it possible to flash the kernel then flash modem driver by itself??

Does not work

Revised Download Link now in OP. Please download Version 13.10.28v2 if you previously installed 13.10.28 yesterday or today. The revised version contains the correct updater script that I accidentally omitted in the original.

Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7h813yz8b2zj19b/GalaTab3_Kernel_SM-T310_Tab3-13.10.28v2_wIntd.zip

Thanks and enjoy!!!!
Still need to permissions on the files in a updater-script to prescribe. Otherwise nothing will work.

su
swapit
sh:swapit: cant execute: Permission denied

I'm removing the DL link for now. Going to re-do this update and will post the new link once complete. Apparently I screwed this one up and it's not necessary to have everyone experience problems. I have it running smoothly on my device, but also have been testing quite a bit and have native files that need to be included on fresh flashes.

Will update shortly.
