Pleased to report that stable is working stable :p
Sooo, tracked down and killed the video-reboot-freeze-omg-help problem (probably). Works for me here, so it should work for you too.... hopefully... :D

Anyway, still getting the super-duper memory optimizations, so enjoy this one and let me know if it's release-worthy :)

Grab it here or in the second post or on github... you know the drill :)

Here to report after 30 minutes of usage of the latest beta:

Everything seems to work perfectly as stable, but, the video issue that freezes and you need to reboot still there. Rolling back to stable for now.

Edit: I'm on the July build of Pixel Experience GSI.

Argh, the link in the release post pointed to the old beta. My fault guys. Make sure you're running 15b and if you downloaded from the link in the previous post, please re-download it. My bad. Apologies.

By the way, I've tested with local videos, youtube, prime, netflix and web videos. All is good here.

Kowalski Kernel b1.5c

And here we go again. New day, new beta release.... getting closer to a stable imho...

Anyway, reintroduced the brightness fix that I disabled a few ago because I was on 10.3.1.0 vendor (no bug there). Installed latest EU vendor and bam! got hit by the bug. So now it should be fine (thanks @okitavera for finding this fix upstream). You can grab the beta here (this time the url is right LOL)

Let me know how it goes. Have fun :)

Yep various vendor and firmware = pain in ass. That's why we put crDroid in the OP link on the latest from China Developer ROM - 9.7.25.

actually the pain are comes from the china developer ROM. How ?

1. They significantly changes some implementation in their app/frameworks, or just "android".
2. But... instead of improving their logic on the android levels, they decided to modify the kernel and of course, the glues between those layer, or we can just says "HAL".
3. Since unofficial developers like some kernel hackers around XDA (maybe @okitavera too) is using an outdated kernel source, the "android" will runs incorrectly on some cases, because the HALs is not perfectly compatible anymore.

So how do we deal with this problem?
it's quite easy.

tell everyone to use stable version, both the users and xda developers. which is impossible, because their friends will says "hey I'm using ported rom from meme.eu because of course is it".
or
either drop all links related to miui china developer, so anyone in the internet can't download it, and focus on the stable version, which is impossible too.
or
tell someone on the xiaomi that they should push their regular weekly updates on their github, which is...yeah, frickin impossible and too egoistic ?

Or I keep shouting for a serious rom developer to partner with that helps me build and test a proper vendor for a non gsi rom. At that point we're good to go and we decide when to update the blobs.
