It actually works fine on 5.1. I just flashed it through recovery and no issues at all.

Scratch that - forgot that Elementalx uses the current ramdisk, so it's safe to flash. Though you could notice an occasional bug here and there.

I see that in the OP post it says that force encryption is turned off, but when I go to settings it still says my tablet is encrypted. A quick google search shows me that after flashing the unencrypted image im supposed to factory reset my tablet. Is this the correct way of unencrypting my tablet or am I missing something?

Flash the unencrypted boot image via fastboot then format user data (factory reset) boot into recovery and flash the kernel before booting up initially. Some Roms or kernels will force the encryption so that's why I do it immediately

I've had this kernel since day 2. All I did today was format data in TWRP and then the factory reset. When I rebooted it was not encrypted.

I will say this tablet really flies now!

I'm guessing it was the wrong Reset. In Twrp it has to been the big one including Internal Storage.

Stock should i be on something else? my build LRX22C don't know if that matter but if you can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated i researched how to disable but without luck.

Does it make sense flashing this kernel on a 5.1.1 rom or would the 5.1.1 kernel in the rom be newer and improved?

I flashed this on aicp 5.1.1 with no issues. The kernel is ROM specific, so any differences/improvements/options will be ROM specific.
