Did you try the flashable zip for permissive mode ?I am running on noobuild MM ROM. Unfortunately I can't get this kernel to boot up. Everytime I try to install I end in a never ending boot animation. Any idea why?
I get the same thing even with permissive zip.Did you try the flashable zip for permissive mode ?
Chainfire boot.img and permissive could be needed.I am running on noobuild MM ROM. Unfortunately I can't get this kernel to boot up. Everytime I try to install I end in a never ending boot animation. Any idea why?
Flashing Chainfires boot.img then flashing EX kernel worked for me.Chainfire boot.img and permissive could be needed.

I'm running my LTE+Wi-Fi N9 on simple aosp 5.1.1 ROM, I have options in the settings for USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi tethering. Bluetooth tethering is working fine, but WiFi has the issue I described earlier. Are you running the stock 6.0 ROM? Are you running the LTE or Wi-Fi version? The "Tethering & Portable Hotspot" option is completely missing from my settings (LTE model), so not sure how you are toggling it on. I'd be interested in learning how to enable Hotspot on my LTE N9 on the stock ROM. Better off posting this in General or Questions thread where it will get more exposure.
Wait for my next releaseHi @flar2, I am about to get Nexus 9 LTE. I would like to root it and maintain stock ROM. I understand that I need to flash the chainfire boot.img but I could not get the modified boot.img for MRA58N (N9 LTE). Are there any other way that you could recommend?
Update!!!
-installer does not touch /system partition at all
-enforcing/permissive is now optional. Permissive.zip is no longer needed if you uncheck "Enforcing" during installation.
You don't need to flash Chainfire's boot.img anymore.
For stock ROM, it will automatically add the correct sepolicy.
For custom ROMs that need permissive mode, make sure you uncheck "Enforcing" in the installer options.
