I flashed the kernel and then the wifi module, but I am still getting "Error" when trying to enable my wifi. I followed the steps exactly as posted. I came from stock, and have unlocked the bootloader and have root.

Am I missing something?

P.S. The kernel itself is running amazing. I have been able to achieve max OC with no stability issues.

I can't get any of the download links to work for the WiFi module. In fact, only the DepositFiles site seems to have any of the files and they are trying their best to prevent anyone from downloading the files without paying them. I would rather donate money to DoomLord rather than this sketchy site. Any suggestions?

TESTING

here is the kernel as an update.zip which can be flashed via the v02 recovery...

first flash back to stock kernel + wifi modules.. reboot the device once to confirm that the kernel has changed to stock...

[ how to install/test ]

  • download the attached update.zip and save it on sdcard
  • the update.zip provided in this post contains the kernel + wifi modules
  • reboot into recovery and flash the update.zip
  • hopefully it wont give u any errors while flashing
  • now reboot device to check if the kernel got replaced with my kernel

do let me know what happens

Just tried this and it seemed to flash fine, with a success message at the end but it doesn't look like it actually took. It's still showing kernal version: 2.6.35.10-g4612ecf

Is this correct?

Display Sleep Time

Hello, I don't know if only me or something with the kernel. I set up the sleep time for the display for 2 minutes and the screen shutdown in less than a minute. I reset the sleep time for 5 minutes and the same thing happens. With stock kernel is not presenting this rare issue. Like I said, maybe is my device who is not confortable with v01 of DoomKernel. BTW I'm not overcloaking nor UV.

I just want to put on the record that I was able to successfully flash this kernel and am now running at a hair under 2ghz. The process listed is valid, but I had lost superuser permissions after flashing. I back tracked to the original rooting method provided by DooMLord and used his rooting toolkit to retrieve superuser permissions. The method I used was the update.zip file he attached in a later post. I just changed the name from "JetStream-HC-DooMKernel-v01-update.zip" to update.zip, installed it on the external sd card, and used "apply /sdcard/update.zip" in recovery. Hopefully this helps anyone having issues.

Since updating to your kernal and wi-fi module i can no longer connect to any wireless networks ...

It just says obtaining IP address then that times out after about 10 seconds, disconnects then trys again indefinitly.

I have googled this and cannot find a fix, most people said that the fix is to statically set an IP address on the device. But this is not a fix, but a work around, I connect reguarlly to alot of wireless networks, all with different IP address ranges, so this is not really an option for me.

Any sugguestions on how to fix this?

Thanks
Kris

I had this issue before, did you try to shutdown your wifi and turning it on again? I did it and after that wifi works with not problem.

Of course, that was my device, each device can and it will behave different from each other.

Excellant!

Impressive.
Everything installed well.
Wifi worked right off the bat.
Currently clocking at 1.6 or so and running smooth.
You've made me reconsider selling this thing. Not that it's a bad tablet but it couldn't give me enough speed compared to my current X61T work machine.
I might just keep it after all..

I have set mine to 1.944 and low to 756. Very fast. I'm happy with this tablet. Especially due to the pen function.
I've thought of getting the TF700T but I really like the Sense UI.
I've just heard that HTC is working on a new tablet. It's all hush hush ATM.

I tried everything, it always randomly restarts. When watching video, playing game and browsing, etc.

One time my battery drained so bad the charging indicator blinked orange. Mind you it was like 89% the last time I saw it at the very same day. Blinking orange is, for those who don't know, a signature of HTC devices when the battery is severely depleted, needs to be solid for device to power up.

Went back to stock, happy camper. I have to note that at first boot this tablet is slowww, even has trouble giving SU but after a while it's fast. I mean 1.5ghz should be enough anyway. I should have spent some time on stock before custom ROMs.
