Oh, then you probably shouldn't listen to me. I haven't used PowerAmp since the days of 4.1. DVC stands for Direct Volume Control. I know PowerAmp has some issues that are resolved by turning it off. (it's a checkbox somewhere in the system menu).
Either way, I think unless you really like PowerAmp, Viper4Android with any other music player of your choice will be (in my opinion, of course, since what works for me might not work for you) a much nicer audio experience than PowerAmp and its EQ.
If you do choose to install Viper, remember, don't install the APK normally. Put the APK in /system/priv-app (NOT /system/app). That will ensure it will seamlessly work regardless of what the source of the audio is (PowerAmp, Google Music, Netflix, Youtube, etc).
Guys 2 and a half days 4 hrs screen on time!!! This ****ing kernel rocks. Can't wait for the nexus 2013 to get updated.. Thanks flar2

I think everything seems a Lil snappier /smoother now with 32 . and it didn't hurt battery at all , actually battery got betterI was using .31 for a while, today I switched to .32 and I have to say it feels smoother.
No more laggs in tapatalk for example.

Yup best way to not have issues is dirty flash stock ROM and then flash elementalx. If you use aroma installer choose current ramdisk.

thank you so much!
I do some tests here and following what you say (put apk in system/priv-app, reboot, open app and set)
I see:
with Google Play Music:
Viper make sounds better, sooo much better! but, don't increase volume.
so, I uninstall faux sound (clear data of app too), reboot, set some things in Viper and then install faux sound again.
and now sound is loud (very!) and higher quality.
with Power Amp:
doesn't see difference.
I like (and pay for..) Power Amp because is a good and easy app to work with. but, if you can show me a better app that I play with...
and
@Savant
thanks for help. I tested Eizo, but don't see difference in sound like I see with Viper.
if dev and guys prefer, we can talk about with PM.
thanks all!
From what others in here have posted and myself ,32 has shown to give full potential ( battery) with 3+ battery cycles . tomorrow may be to soon if your not showing same or better battery in comparison to other builds u mentioned ( just putting out some info if u don't follow thread )Downloading v0.32 now, as well as latest PAC Nightly. Gonna report back probably tomorrow with some accurate data, in terms of how long the battery lasts + speed.
Any news when any of the Beta versions will be turned into Stable? We've been on v0.26 for a while, and I've been using .29 for a good while, and it's pretty darn stable.
---
Edit: v0.32 refuses to boot with latest PAC Nightly, whilst the stock CM kernel boots just fine. Gonna try v0.31 now. That's what happens when you don't read properly and flash non-CAF kernel on a CAF ROM. xD
OK I see viper mentioned over and over I wanna try it now , do u have link u can share ,? Last time I tried to install viper there were 50 versions on play store and links all over on XDA so I just wanna get the correct one , I think I found it but just wanna make sure . thanksOh, then you probably shouldn't listen to me. It's not on the app store. Flash the zip in post 454 and if you need instructions there's a set almost every other page cause people don't read before asking how to install. Lots of good info in the thread and I never forget to install viper on my phone. I really can't have my phone without it, it's amazing.

PowerAmp will need Direct Volume Control turned off for Viper to work.
If you'd like to increase the volume, Playback Gain Control is what you should modify. (Be sure to enable Viper4Android's "Expert" UI option by pressing Menu and picking UI Setting.
If you'd like to try a different type of volume mod, I strongly recommend this, it takes less than a minute to do and is really simple: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=47593115&postcount=2
Do NOT use the premade zips unless you are on the stock ROM.
