I'm still curious as to whether the system write module is working.

uname -r
3.4.10-g014d33e

when i try insmod /system/lib/modules/oc_mod.ko

i receive "insmod: init_module '/system/lib/modules/oc_mod.ko' failed (file exists)"

I do have overclock though.

I'll post my dmesg since I don't know what part is needed -__- lol
Thanks. No need to post dmesg, it seems the modules load fine.

it flashed using the 1809 oc but i am getting fc on messages, gmail, android media, i can open tapatalk and go thru threads but once i try to enter one i get fc. using nova widgetswill not load i used your latest alpha
Try a lower frequency.

We tested the write modules on an s-on phone that prior to flashing could not make changes to system and retain those changes after a reboot, after flashing the kernel and write modules the changes applied to system were still there after a reboot.

Hi I'm running on hboot 2.09 s-on. I flashed this and it just goes into a bootloop. I tested this with stock w/ goodies 3.27 and meanbean 1.7. I got the same results.

I'm assuming the new hboot is preventing me from flashing this. bummer. :(

Try (from the bootloader):

fastboot flash boot boot.img
Ok I did that and it said it flashed it.

But getting into the system and looking at the kernel version it says:

So all I did was reflash the stock kernel? No OC settings of config files. so I'm unsure what I did here? I know this is a stock kernel and I know it uses config files to overclock it. So if I can't flash the config files what's the point?

It's the stock kernel, but the boot.img is modified to include init.d and system write support. You still have to go through the installer to get the modules and config files.
Yes! I see that now! Thank you sir! I am now OC'd at 1.7!!! Wooot.

Ok so here's what I did for the folks that are Hboot 2.09 and s-on:

(1) I booted my phone into fastboot in the bootloader
(2) I extracted the boot.img file from the Elemental-EVO-JB-v0.7.zip (it's located in the /boot directory)
(3) I placed it into my sdk folder
(4) I brought up an adb command window
(5) I issued the fastboot flash boot boot.img command that pushed the stock kernel to my boot partition
(6) I booted to recovery and flashed the zip as normal selecting my OC options
(7) rebooted the phone and I am now up and running overclocked at 1.7 on both cpus.

THANK YOU SIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
