BTW Kamarush absolutely dosnt approve this kernel.
From private:
-"And i don't give a word on Rage kernel... Because he didn't got permission to use OUR modules, and kernel sources...."
But kernel is licensed under GPL, so I don't have to get any permissions. I also don't use any of modules (or governors and io schedulers are counted as modules too?), just a few modified source files.

is this ok with CM? or it should be only stock?
Only stock.

Read the XDA forum rules first:

12. Using the work of others.

If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.

Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.

These rules apply to all software posted on XDA unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

Okay, then I'm sorry, it's really my fault. I've made a link to DooMLoRD profile in the first post, and sent a pm asking for a permission. Hope this will settle the question. If he'll be against, I'll delete this from the forum.

You don't need to delete, just follow the rules as everybody and ask first :)

@DuMOHsmol

glad to see new ppl come into kernel development...

it would have been nice of u to send me a p.m. before u posted this, just like MANY ppl had asked me for my sources for various devices... most of features from my kernel are being used here... if u check this device forum u will find that a few devs are already having similar kernels and they had contacted me beforehand to use my sources...

i always encourage development and try my best to help new comers... i just have one request... if u are going to use my sources, which took a few months and lots of hard work to build up, then atleast credit me in ur OP and link to my kernel thread... u can check any of my kernels thread, i always have a section "credits for features" where in i credit the devs who's work is being used in my kernel... so you tell me how correct it is to use the same sources and just rebrand it, without even informing the developer in advance... feel free to fork my kernel repo from github, but if u come across any useful patches send me a pull request/share them with me so that users of my kernels on other devices may also benefit...

try to make ur kernel unique... team up with other developers to improve the kernel... remember all xperia 2011 devices use same kernel sources... so any additional features that u are able to bring to the kernel will be useful to all...

anyways what you do with ur thread/kernel is ur wish.... i have just put forth my views/opinions/suggestions...

regards,

DooMLoRD
