2 boot phases?

The kernel as such as great ... really like it.
I'm just having a question concerning boot. I'm on slim 3.1 and after flashing the kernel I'm having two kind of boot steps. First the led is light green (when trying to get into recovery I get a freeze) the next step is deep green and there it's no problem to get into recovery.
Is this normal?

Is there any documentation where I can fully utilize the kernel features? It's been a long time the last time I dabbled with custom kernels. All the help and information would be highly appreciated. Already flashed the kernel. :)

Well for boot on recovery use the vol+ the other don't have function so don't use it
And the kernel is working for you right?

But I read that you need to make a factory data reset for the drm fix to work. Has this changed? I always flash the drm fix after clean flashing a rom.

With my kernel you don't need flash anything, just the kernel, Im working now with systemless xposed

Yes the kernel is working perfect. You are right when pressing the vol+ in the first phase I get into recovery when pressing vol- in the second phase, with the deep green led, I'm also getting in recovery ... strange.

Same here. I think we've got two recoveries here. I get orange led when I power on and volume up takes me to recovery. In the backup option I can see ta trim and other partitions that you normally would see with an unlocked bootloader.

But then I get the green led followed by a vibrate, volume down goes into this recovery which I think is the recovery you get that comes with flashing the ROM. In the backup option all you see is the basic stuff.

Im on eXistenZ 5.0.

Other than that, pretty happy with kernel. Verry snappy and responsive. Haven't noticed any difference in battery drain. That being said with stock kernel I had it under clocked to 1728mhz.

Fauxsound is a major plus for me. I'm just wondering if anyone's gets any crackling feedback noise when clicking stuff. With output gain on zero I still get this. Not a big deal tbh, had this issue on Lollipop. (Edit: Turning off firequalizer in V4A turned of the crackling, however there is still some minor feedback on presses)

Also hoping someone will post their setup for best battery + performance.

Well, I've installed this kernel on Slimm 3.1. I wasn't able to get it to work with Fragment 2.0 or 2.5.
Today was a weird day, so I didn't get a chance to calibrate the battery. I'll have a more usual day tomorrow; hopefully get some results.

In terms of performance, I'm noticing some lag in everyday things, but that could be due to the ROM. I'd have to pay more attention to what those are. Antutu gave me a score of 54k, 1k less than Fragment without this kernel.

Here is my battery result from the day. Not bad considering I was in bad cell reception and I kept forgetting to lock my phone in my pocket. I butt dialed a few unfortunate souls today :p

Performance is another story. I honestly don't know if it's the ROM or the Kernel as I didn't use the ROM without this kernel. But there haven't been any major catastrophic crashes so I guess it's good in that respect! Lol

Won't work for me sadly. D6603 with freshly installed stock 23.5.A.1.291 (US Custom from XperiFerm)
No errors in TWRP and it won't boot after. I get a quick vibration and nothing. Reflashing back to the stock kernel allows me to boot again.

Any ideas? I'd like to use this.

I wasn't aware. I'll try that out, thanks!
Make a TA backup google it if you dont know how....unlocking the bootloader wikk make you lose your drm keys which are important for special sony features such as image quality etc....

this kernel has a drm fix even if you dont back them up but those keys are unique for each device and once lost you cant get them back.

Also onne more thing that many don't understand things won't be magically perfect after flashing you need to tweak some values using a kernel manager according to your needs....it needs alot of research but thankfully Google and XDA are your friends.

Here are some screenshots of the power of this kernel + slim rom
