Zero bootloop for me.
Do you have made a fresh install?
Yes, full wipe including system. Flash ROM, flash gapps, flash superuser, flash kernel. Also tried booting OS first then rebooting into recovery and flashing kernel. Both methods failed. It should be noted that I'm encrypted, in case that makes any difference. I know it made a hell of a difference with TWRP until their dev team corrected decryption.

Edit: should I flash cache, dalvik before or after flashing kernel on preinstalled ROM?
Encrypt can be a possible problem.

Converting to art is not part of the kernel.
The problem with overtemp is related to rom, because the kernel is based on 4.3, basically the same.
Thanks for the reply. I wasn't blaming the kernel -- it's been getting hot on the stock kernel as well -- but just asking what the temp setting should be in Trickster? 85 C is apparently too high for my phone.

Should I wipe cache & dalvik before or after I flash your kernel? Or is it necessary at all. Going to test 114

I know Semaphor kernel is 65c and I believe Franco kernel is 75 (correct me if I'm wrong here). It might vary from kernel to kernel based on voltage tables and hotplug

Wait what's not compatible with cm11, the 112 kernel? I flashed it and I have the color issue, I'm gonna flash the colorfix and see what happens.

Using the same kernel. Why would you turn WiFi off and on, off and on? Is it a battery issue? I just leave WiFi on.

What? I don't have any issue with wifi...I was simply saying when you flash the CPdroid 4.4, along with this kernel, you get the strange colors on the screen. The color fix zip is to correct the colors.

Even I had a heating problem.. Using interactive governor and Undervolting by -100mV seems to have solved it.. Doesn't heat up while charging as well..
