r7 and Pure Nexus be the ****!!!! My gal ran that setup for 2 weeks and she's talked so highly of it I had to give it a go and she was right. My battery has some extremely slow drainage while using my phone and I have tweaked a few things in FKU for speed and its still sllllooowwwlyyyy draining.. Guess I'll hang for a while. Looking forward to r8.

You're bloody welcome. Say hi to gal for me for being awesome and introduce you to FK.

Is an app like amplify possible without xposed?
No, it's impossible.

Phone is showing as awake during charging, clean flashed deodexed stock ROM, still having that issue, also will settings from previous flash be carried forward even after full wipe (except internal storage)?.. Coz even after a clean flash I had layers applied when setting up my device from scratch...

None of the problems stated by you so far have anything to do with Franco kernel. You might wanna move it to the respective ROM's q&a section before you get called out.

Having said that, phone being "awake" while charging is correct. As far as the layers aspect of concerned, either you didn't wipe entirely (system, dalvic, data, cache) , or whatever rom you're using has layers pre installed. What's your end goal?

What this is doing in a kernel thread is the real question.

As that was already said - your layers trouble has been covered over and over and over again.

No settings remain after a proper clean flash.
A proper clean flash does not wipe vendor partition.
Vendor partition is where layers are be found.
You can search on your own for more info.
I'm done here.

I posted here because I'm running Franco r7, and another is, this is an active thread, so thought I'll get a solution quickly, I don't have trouble with layers, just telling that it dint change after a clean flash, just giving more info for troubleshooting..u mentioned that layers is in the vendor partition, thanks for clarifying.. I Should've mentioned that I'm running Franco in the first post..:)..

A little weekend treat: http://kernels.franco-lnx.net/Nexus6P/6.0/anyKernel/fk-r8-anykernel2.zip
You can flash that on top of any rom and it'll work :) I strongly suggest that, if you're using a custom rom, you "dirty flash" your rom package so that you get back the default boot.img and then flash this zip on top of it. If you're on stock I wouldn't worry, but if you want a pristine installation flash stock boot.img from the nexus images and then flash this zip.

Anyway, FKUpdater will be out sometime Monday/Tuesday supporting auto-flash of this new flashing method, so I'll hold off an official release of r8 until then, but you can go ahead and play with it, has lots of small changes (I won't bother you with the details). Enjoy and let me know how it works for you.

Back to #praiseFranco. The new r8 working like a champ. Did a dirty flash. No flashing super su after either. Theres no change log per se.. So dunno the changes. But it's working smooth as silk. Will update on the battery once I complete a full charge. Thanks again for this wonderful kernel of yours
