I usually don't argue with people like you but I came this far thinking you would learn something. Waste of my time.
Learn what?

I have personally tried going without gapps and also microg.

The thing is, a handy app that makes your life easy by automatically flashing the latest and greatest Franco kernel shouldn't be suspected

You can flash it yourself you are under no compulsion to use his updater

Will this Kernel support AOSP-CAF based ROMs? If not then are you planning to add any support for it?
No

@franciscofranco, I wanted to come back here with some feedbacks about that awesome kernel!
Here are some roms I tested the kernel on and fully working:
1-AOSP-CAF: Cosmic, DU
2: CAF: Citrus
3- LineageOS based roms: LOS, OCTOS, RR

I hope that will help some people!
Thanks again for this lifesaving kernel!
But y not on xos

Let's be more specific, it's not designed to run in a AOSP based environment, that is what the OP says, on page 3 or so Franco himself said to another user that it will run on a AOSP based distributions (DU or something like that, don't remember exactly), so we have two contradictory statements, unfortunately I didn't get any further information even I asked twice, but actually it shouldn't matter as you have always the possibility to backup and try yourself, in worst case it won't boot and you have to restore the previous boot backup, of course some rom functions might misbehave when rom & kernel don't really match but that's the adventure you'll have to pass, go find out :)
Maybe a surprise is already waiting for you, maybe not, only you can tell..

It can run in other roms, but not supported by Franco, so if something goes wrong or not work as it should the dev can't be blamed as it is stated in first post only for LOS 7.1.1 based roms...

Ok firstly I'd like to clear one misconception that everyone has

This kernel should technically work on all ROMs out there except oxygenos and hydrogenos

It doesn't matter what you use as a base, all ROMs usually fork the lineage kernel, do a rebrand and release. A rebrand essentially is just a rename

What Franco says that he will not give you support if you use his kernel on these ROMs however this kernel should work on all ROMs

Help?

Any fix for autofocus on this kernel?
I'm using halogen os and I know it's not officially supported, but its based off lineage os and works very well so far apart from this small thing. Is this a known bug already or not? If so any fix or hope? I really like the stability and amazing battery so I really don't want to change or go back to stock... Anything appreciated :)

Gonna top it tomorrow (lol)
How the he'll are you accomplishing this SOT?? Congrats man.
I'm not even able to top 3hours!
Maybe my battery is dead, my oneplus 2 is more than 2 years old. Think I should replace the battery??

Of course, this was going to my mind too but it's not clearly stated, therefore we have to assume that it is for support reasons rather than the actual ability to run on aosp systems.. Which is a normal thing to do
I know from Boeffla that his kernel ran on DU marshmallow but it's blocked on DU nougat, the kernel can be flashed but the config app won't install, he argued that through recent changes for the nougat builds they're out of compatability.. So pointing to technical reasons, I mean this example shows potentially technical limitations but theoretically it should work (more or less good)...

Sounds not to good, do you apply battery saving profile and do you use naptime?
Check out the better battery thread to check thoroughly..

Yap, battery saving profile applied, and naptime running. I get awesome deep sleep stats. But with screen on, battery life just keeps decreasing. See below Screenshots.

New Franco Kernel version for the OnePlus 2

r5
1. Much better custom wakelock detection & blocking for lower idle battery consumption. All the wakelocks being blocked are available to check on my github repository
2. Better Power-saving Performance Profile implementation

zip: https://kernels.franco-lnx.net/OnePlus2/7.1.1/anyKernel/fk-r5-anykernel2.zip

Franco Kernel Manager & Updater is the best companion for this Kernel (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel)

If you don't (yet) have my full featured app you can always just download its free counter part which lets you seamlessly and automagically update Franco Kernel on your device. It's free and my cat approves! (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel.free)

I also strongly suggest you install Naptime (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze), for free, to achieve the best battery life through out the day. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Hi franco, I'm trying to install your kernel without success. I'm on LineageOS and flashing it through recovery gives me this error:

Code:
Dumping/Splitting image failed. Aborting...
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error flashing zip file '/sdcard/Flash/fk-r5-anykernel2.zip'
I use Magisk as well and I first thought it was caused by that, so I removed Magisk but the issue persists.

EDIT: Installed via the app, no problems at all, thanks!
