You are right. 2 security patches have been released in the last 2 monthsIt's been around two months since a release. I assumed there's been new stuff in LOS since then that requires an update to the kernel, thereby warranting an update.
I am, however, not an expert. Maybe I'm wrong. If yes, then please tell me, and I'll go ahead and flash FK right now.
Thanks for the info. You should give basic information about your set-up if you expect someone to help...
Rom, Android Version?
Flashed stock boot image before Franco's?
Root? (not only yes but what "magisk or Supersu"?
Flashed by TWRP or FK Manager?
Using latest FK Manager?
-> try both possibilities
-> try flashing your rom kernel before
-> try to flash FK via Kernel Manager
Yeah! I got the information about the kernel in settings.ignore the message and flash the latest kernel version r7, the message is a false alarm.
further make sure you have root, open magisk manager, you need at least 2 green hooks.
further perhaps you gonna delete one of your double postsit's always a good idea to check own posts before leaving the site but things can happen, no real problem, just hinting.
Good to hear, some where already speculating from self chosen hermit life to alien abductionOk break from XDA is over, and vacations are over. Sorry for the absence but I had to rest.
r8 is up synced with LineageOS and other security patches + enhancements from other devices.
You can flash it with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel or any other mean you're used to!
Hope you're having a great start of summer!
Even I have to rest sometimes, haven't had a proper vacation for 5-6 years.Good to hear, some where already speculating from self chosen hermit life to alien abduction
Interestingly no one guess "vacation"...
Welcome back!

Ups, you are right, I forgot. Fixed.I am afraid that you forgot to push your latest source..
Even though you're principally right I want to clear up here that @aviraxp is contributing to franco's github for the OP2 and has also own kernel projects that partially depend on franco's work, if I have read correctly, so having the latest source pushed does indeed infect his real life projects...why is this your problem, don't you have any real life problems of your own to solve...
Nope. I did not do any contributing....Even though you're principally right I want to clear up here that @aviraxp is contributing to franco's github for the OP2 and has also own kernel projects that partially depend on franco's work, if I have read correctly, so having the latest source pushed does indeed infect his real life projectssometimes passion is overwhelming - let's leave it right here...
I don't know any of that, flashes fine here. Don't know what recovery you're using, but something is pretty derped there.Getting error on flashing r8. Recovery log below.

Using twrp 3.0.2.2 , which one is recommended?I don't know any of that, flashes fine here. Don't know what recovery you're using, but something is pretty derped there.
I have a standard zip structure, works on all devices, and has done so for a long time. I think you have something else going on there.Using twrp 3.0.2.2 , which one is recommended?
Edit : Tried with latest twrp 3.1.1, but got the same error. I am able to flash other kernels without any issue.

hello world
With all due respect, #2 and #3 in your response are not helpful as francesco has already replied, to add to it I am also an experienced user.1. Your first post is a pain tout read, not formated at all. There is plenty of tool, like pastebin/hastebin, or even
2. As Franco says, he has a standard Zip structure, based on anykernel, which has already proved its worth.Code:hello world
3 It might be a problem on your own, please download again the kernel and check thé MD5.
