Bugs. Half of the people here came from another kernel and due to that WiFi is bugged for them, another half are witnessing continuous reboots that no one has been able to debug. Logs show nothing. Not only that, but OOS itself is pretty bad when it comes to this... Loading the WiFi driver as a module is incredibly insecure anyway. We want as much to be handled in the kernel image as possible as modules open holes for exploits.
That aside, I can't really see why someone would run it anymore as it isn't too great anyway. It's better than what most OEMs ship but it's nothing great. Having seen the number of **** ups in OPs kernel source, I can only imagine what the source code of OOS as a whole looks like.
Personally I highly suggest you try out Slim and wait on Franco to release with a new kernel based on Lineage sources. It's a solid ROM. Gesture handling is ****ed but it's not too big of a deal.
I can't speak on the part of Franco, but I know he put tons of time into getting this thing working right and that's commendable. Whatever decision he makes, I'm happy with. Great kernel and a great person behind it... Though I must admit that I miss maintaining my own. Less time spent on my part
Everything is working fine for me so far, I will stick with this until Franco releases something else for the OPX. I'm totally sold, I tried it on my N5 and it was great. Good job! Look forward to the next release
A very good decision in my opinion.
Nobody (maybe 5% of people on XDA) still use OOS, the rest have abandoned it and moved on to LOS and based ROMs.

Have LOS released any MM Roms I assumed they would be focussing on N only
You do not know how happy I was when I saw that you have released a kernel for my device. Unfortunately my device runs on RR which is LOS based ROM. Looking forward for an update for LOS based ROMs.
Battery life is great, the reboots have started for me now, but I'm going to stick with it to FK LOS comes out!

To be honest, I didn't face any bugs or anything on OOS 3.1.4 with r4. Thanks for the update!

Running ResurrectionRemix 5.8.2 with this Kernel, no issues yet. Surprisingly, when I flashed this Kernel I saw an extra "touchscreen gestures" in the gestures menu in settings which wasn't there when I flashed other kernels. Maybe it's because this Kernel is supported for LOS. Works like a charm for me right now. Great work! Thanks! :laugh::good:

The moment I flashed it, there was a very noticeable improvement in fluidity.

It's sad to see that "one of the best" kernel devs have dropped their own kernel support for the stock based rom, which is "better" then custom roms on many parts.
I'm not flaming, just a bit disappointed also if I understand why you dropped support. OOS on opx sucks anyway and is barely outdated. So I understand, really, but still a bit disappointed ^^"
There are indian devs that still work on kernel for OOS. But anyway, good luck on the future, Franco

The r4 worked flawlessly for me at least. Flashed r5 on a MM 6.01 ROM. Boots fine, works great so far. Thanks Franco.
i had change back my rom to cm13 sultan from oos, can i used r5 to cm13 sultan sir ? i scared like yesterday sometime freeze i must hard poweroff, cause im uber driver, when i get order my phone freeze ,
