@civato: First of thanks for the kernel and providing its sources.

2 Questions: Which config would you recommend so that to compile? You have a bunch on your sources (yours, Bonuzzz's and stock IIRC)
Secondly, do you think you could bake in support for charging while OTG is connected? I'm in the process of turning my note pro into a linux machine (hence the recompiling of your kernel / adding VT support) and having my tablet being charged while OTG components are connected would be a blessing.

Once again thanks.

edit: @civato: I did some digging in the "charging while OTG is connected" thing and I found out that you had the driver enabled ( CONFIG_MUIC_MAX77803_SUPPORT_LANHUB ) on your kernel but it still refuses to charge. So I found this discussion (over here: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/98063 ) concluding the the drivers possibly need to be updated to have a more universal effect (work to more devices/situations). I must say I'm not as well-versed with kernel modification (apart from the simple things, like enabling/disabling and compiling stuff) so if you had the time and appetite to include such support it would be well appreciated. Still your work is appreciated anyway. Once again thank you.

Does this bad boy support fast charging? I bought a 4A charger, which is supposed to be super fast, but it charges the tablet just as slow as the original charger which came with it. So, I'm thinking kernel support needs to be enabled...Maybe a better question to ask is: does Exynos 5420 even support quick charge function, like Qualcomm's Snapdragons 800 & above?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You're thinking of the hardware fast charge available on the Note 4/Nexus 6 which uses a higher voltage (9V I think) to charge the battery very quickly at first and then slow down as it gets closer to full. That charging isn't supported by the hardware in this tablet. The only thing he could enable that has to do with fast charge in this kernel is the ability to pull 800mAh from USB 3.0 ports which support that kind of draw.

In short: No, this kernel cannot enable you to use the charger you bought.

The hardware in the tablet will not utilize the 4A capability. In fairness, the Note 4 wouldn't be able to use that either. It will detect 5V and only use 1-2 amps of the current to protect the battery.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, as I suspected - quick charge function is only present in Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips, Exynos doesn't support it. Good thing I bought that charger for dual purpose - it has 2 USB cables, and when 2 devices are plugged in - each gets 5V/2A charging rate, resulting in 5V/4A total output. For fast charging on the devices you mentioned people need these I guess:

i flashed this but it will show knox is stop sometime, how to i stop this notice
Make certain your ROM doesn't have any knox applications or drivers not frozen. The kernel does not support Knox (thank goodness) so any application / system driver which tries to access it will FC.

Slight problem - Logcat doesnt work at all with 4.2
I flashed a factory ROM and it worked, flashed your kernel to it and it stopped working. Is this something you can rectify?

Synapse is amazing, I am not sure about half the things I am changing though...:)

Is it safe to set AC input to 2.0A ? (My adapter says it can handle it)

I wish someone more knowledgeable than me would make some downloadable profiles for it (with the perfect setting for a 12.2, I'd paypal for it)
