Hello friends. Currently I am using 3.08 with December security patch on Android 10.

Ahah so that's it! I just tested it and you're right, whenever you launch the camera the frequency changes. I've reported this before but didn't know a good way to reproduce it. It seems the only fix for this is to reduce the max frequency for the cluster while flashing the kernel. It won't be able to jump past that in that case but you also can't set it higher without re-flashing... @flar2 thoughts?

I've used this Kernel on 3 generations of phone now, HTC One M7, Nexus 5x, and now my Pixel2. It's sad to see how much customisation can be done nowadays without any real info as to what does what. The Nexus 5x Elemental forum had tons of info regarding usecases and different settings. I miss that, but don't know enough, or even where to look, to find out much about this device. Until today I'd been running this device with the factory Battery Saver mode, that seems to negate any user defined kernel settings and Naptime, which may or may not.
Anyhow, I'm about to start playing. I've started with overclocking the big cluster, we'll see what happens for a week with heavy GCamera use.

Just to note, you can still flash EX kernel from TWRP, after manually patching the stock boot.img with Magisk Manager and flashing it with fastboot. This allows the big cluster CPU frequencies to stick if underclocking, even after opening the camera.

@flar2 - I used your kernel on my Nexus 7 2013 to activate USB Host+Charging. Thank you very much!

Since Android 11 allows Tethering via an USB ethernet adapter, it would be great to have USB Host+Charging on the Pixel 2. This way, I could use my second Pixel 2 as LTE router for the whole LAN in my house! :)

"Ethernet tethering arrives in latest Android 11 Developer Preview" https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/...rives-in-latest-android-11-developer-preview/

Edit: I was able to use the ethernet, PD pass through and USB host feature at the same time with (stock kernel)! :) https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...omputers-in-2019-and-on.4009559/post-84551961

1st thanks to @flar2 , using your kernel on a Pixel 2 ( Android 11 stock FW ) with underclocked settings to expand the lifetime of the battery.

I was a longtime ( since 2011 ) Sony user and fanboy, switched 6 months ago to Pixel devices ( P 4 , P 3 , P 2 ) , and my question is - can i use your kernel in non-stock-roms too? I prefer LOS, official or unofficial 17.1 or 18. In Sony devices this was not possible, custom stock kernels and kernels from custom roms were different.

Thanks in advance...

.

Hi,

I'm using elemental x for years since pie. Now I'm using android 11 (crdroid, but the same happens on lineageos) and as soon as I flash the kernel, fast charging don't work. I started to upgrade from android 10 with a full clean install of the latest factory image. Tried 4.07 and the latest (4.10) by upgrading from EX kernel manager.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

I'm not much familiar with kernel settings, I'm using ElementalX mainly for the double tap 2 wake feature. :)

Hi flar2

Can you help me, I rooted my pixel 2 xl already but unfortunately I was stuck on the logo of twrp. I tried to fix it but I can't fix it. Is there a fix on this issue and can you please give me a link on how to do it, I searched videos on youtube but it didn't work, another question : my phone is already rooted so can I simply download ex kernel manager on google playstore and then install elementalx directly? Or I need to install twrp and magisk first before installing the kernel through flashing on twrp?
