Are you serious? Maybe it's a 4.0.3 kernel thing then. With CM9 kernel I set governor to performance (locks at max clock speed) and I get unstable at 1.5ghz. Maybe I need to overvolt a bit. Anyway, offtopic. Why not just use v2 if you want crazy-ass clocks?

When I was over excited about my phone I o/c my phone on gingerbread with doomlord 2ghz kernel and actually I played on my phone with 2 GHz clock. But phone got warm as hell :D

Tapped with Xperia Play running AOKP 4.0.4 Milestone 6

On GB I also had 2 GHz stable, but on ICS it gets unstable on 1.6, so I'm sitting on 1500 MHz.

Still better than 1 GHz ;)

Are you flashing your device using the fastboot tools provided with flashtool?

As long as your bootloader is unlocked, you should be able to flash this Kernel... I didn't think 'root' was required for flashing Kernels as I thought it was related to the ROM only.. Although someone, please correct me if i am wrong!

It's been so long since I first started flashing Kernels to my Play so now it's simply a case of plug in, fast boot, and flash! I've forgotten if i had to do anything specific the first time round.

Are you following Doom's instructions in the first post?

[ how to install this kernel ]

1.download the boot.img & modules update.zip
2.save the boot.img in the folder with fastboot binaries (fastboot.exe files)
3.save the modules update.zip to sdcard (on phone)
4.power down device
5.start device in fastboot mode
6.use the following command to flash the boot.img

Code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

7.reboot phone and enter recovery
8.flash the wifi modules update.zip for my kernel
9.reboot phone and enjoy the kernel

does anyone have any opinion on which kernel is better? Dooms or Lupus? or do they both pretty much operate the same way? Im currently running Lupus but im thinking about trying this kernel out.

I was planning to restart work on the kernel for 2011 devices but when i look around the forum i was extremely disappointed to see "devs" ripping off my kernel sources, not even asking for permissions, then releasing their kernel under their own "tag" and not even bothering to mention my work...

FYI more than 90% of the features of some of these kernels are based off my sources...
    https://github.com/DooMLoRD/Xperia-2011-Kernel-2.6.32.9/commits/master
    https://github.com/DooMLoRD/Xperia-2011-Kernel-2.6.32.9/commits/ics-zeus
    https://github.com/DooMLoRD/Xperia-2011-Kernel-2.6.32.9/commits/ics-mogami
    https://github.com/DooMLoRD/Xperia-2011-Kernel-2.6.32.9/commits/play-cdma

its very easy to port from the same device kernel when all fixes and all the hard work has been done by someone else... being open source doesnt mean that u can just rip off others work,..

do u know how many hours i spent getting the kernel optimized with all the features it has? hundreds of hours and numerous test releases...

i had introduced tons of features into the semc 2011 kernel which people hadnt even thought of before was possible on these devices...

its really shameful to such ripping off sources under the pretext of opensource and not even have the courtesy to acknowledge...

so i have decided that i will not be continuing any further work on these kernels... and will be shutting down all my 2011 devices kernel threads...

    regards,

    DooMLoRD
