Really impressed with the WiFi range, picking up a friends network which is 3 houses down from where I am.

LuPuS always the best :good: Already I was using lupus v9 on my Arc S and now I'll flash this on my friend's phone (xperia ray) but I would like to ask a question before. How far overclock safe ? or what's the red line of overclock ? I couldn't translate "what I want to ask" I hope, you understand my poor English :D I'm sorry for that

Personally I feel 1.2 is good enough for everyday use. And feel we dont need to OC much higher. Obviously higher OC will drain battery quicker and risk damaging motherboard. But different strokes for different folks.

Blank Screen after Lupus Bootanimation

Hi Wedgess,

I'm kind of new to flashing kernels on my Ray (BL recently unlocked) and am having problems getting Lupus to work with the Iced Bean ROM (based on ICS .587 - compatible with any ICS .587 based kernel - see link below).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911165&highlight=iced+bean

I'm using Flashtool to do this - am I doing something wrong there? (see Flashtool log attached). The thing is, Lupus works fine on a 'clean' stock ICS .587 ROM - is it that I have to flash Lupus on a 'clean' .587 ROM first and then flash the Iced Bean ROM? Lupus DID work once with Iced Bean, so it seems to be compatible. The problem is I don't remember if I did anything different to get it working (I don't think so). I definitely used flashtool though.

I'm having the same problem with some other .587 kernels too - some kernels work perfectly, but others just go to a blank screen right after the bootanimation - meaning I have to remove the battery etc. :(

Sirkay's 'xKernel v9.587-D' is a good example - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544513 the exact same thing happens with this as with your Lupus kernel.

Can you help me with this? I'm sure there's a very simple solution. :)

P.S. Forgive my 'noobness' btw, I'm sure you and other kernel-flashing veterans are sighing in exasperation while reading this! ;)

After flashing kernel power on your phone. Go into recovery wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache (in special settings). Maybe it will solve your problem.

Hiding out south of the border...
I have been having great difficulty getting mounts2sd running fully with this kernel on stock .587 ROM. I have been discussing with dk_zero_cool in the m2sd thread and it appears that the issue is with the way init.d support has been added in init.rc and sysinitsupport.sh I have edited these and will test this evening to see if this resolves the issue but in the meantime if you're interested the relevant posts start HERE

Just tried that a minute ago - didn't work unfortunately, seems it's just not compatible with Iced Bean 2. Thanks anyway. :)

Swapper

Is it possible to use swapper with this kernel, I read something about it and it looks great.
Only not sure what it does, can someone explain this to me?

Kernel boot

Hi,
I flashed the kernel via fastboot and flashed the wifi, cifs and zram files but I get a black screen after the kernel boots. The backlight seems on but the bootanimation doesn't appear, it remains stuck at a black screen. I'm running Xperia T rom for Ray v6.8 and my bootloader is unlocked. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Regards,
Morris

if you root ur phone you can flash ROM or edit file in ROM.

if you want to flash Kernel, you must unlock you bootloader first.

below is sony official unlock bootloader
