Hi Guyz,

i would definitely need your help on this.
After couple hours and I still dont know why, looking for the culprit without any succes foe the moment , all of a sudden my 4 core Litlle cluster are stuck at 1766Mhz not matter I tried to disable some apps..force close other...No luck No change.

This issue is that Kernel is one of the best and it's so butter smooth in everything you do. Scrolling web pages, playing games etc.

Any help or hints where I could dig more would be very appreciated.

Not a newbie at all, but here totally stuck and it drives me crazy as hell.

Thanks a lot.

Are you by any chance have WhatsApp installed? It seems WhatsApp version 2.9.308 and 2.9.330 has some issues that sometimes locks the CPU little clusters to max. It seems to be affecting most OnePlus phones than others (try googling WhatsApp battery drain). I had this same issue too, at first I thought it was a problem after upgrading to OOS 10.

Dunno what exactly caused this as it's randomly triggered, some say that it is caused by the new features in WhatsApp to unlock using fingerprint. Try force stopping WhatsApp and see if the CPU goes back to normal. That's what I'd do for my temporary solution for now, periodically check CPU and if its locked to max then force stop the WhatsApp from Settings then reopen it normally. Some sites suggest to backup your WhatsApp and downgrade the app prior to 2.9.308 until they fix it in the new version.

Hi mate,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I give a try and see what are the results. I saw the WhatsApp issue especially for our OP but not really paid attention.

I keep you posted if results are positive.

Best

Heyo!

Been a minutes since I have been around and I wanted to give yous guys an update. I have been working on our op7 release and it is finally coming to a conclusion. I will soon be opening a thread and releasing the first official build. Once that is done, I will begin work on the next op6 release. I have alot that I will be bringing over from my op7 work that I am excited to see what we can do for the 6. I will be reusing some of the work from P but a number of ideas on how I can improve other areas. Honestly, I am more excited to do new work for the 6 then finishing the 7. I would expect new test builds for the 6 to come pretty quickly. I don't need to do device profiling like I did for the 7 so I should be able to get straight into it. Thanks is guys for your patience. I appreciate the fact that you guys give me the space needed to do my best work.

Regards,
Zachariah

This came at the right time Zachariah! Always loved your kernel.

Just wondering if it's going to be for A9 or A10? (I've still yet to upgrade after I used the first stable of A10 I rolled back due to horrendous bugs).

Hope you are well :)

I can still clearly remember his kernel back on lollypop/nougat on my then G2 (LG; wazzat, like 5 years?). Never had a better battery life than that yet still smooth.
Missed his stuff ever since.
Need to get a tissue quick! ?

Super late reply but it will be for Q. I have started work on it and have created the first test build in my TG group. The whole bringup will go pretty quickly.
