Not sure what cause it. May be google is not supporting create new aacount with ics. Have you tried to log on with an existing gmail account? I'm on aother rom so cannot test it.

Thanks for your reply. May i ask which rom do you use/prefer and why?

Today i encountered a problem with wifi. At home it is fine. At university it fails to get a connection. No error message. Wifi is protected with an username and password by 802.1x eap method.

I change roms from time to time. Now on NightOwl KK. I suspect ICS is out of date so it may start to have some probs with incompatibility.

I took a Google Account Manager apk from Kitkat and creating a new gmail account is working even if i'm forced to verify my phone number because it says 'there is some strange behaviour' :D login with an existing account is working too.
So it's fine.

I noticed with this rom and former TW JB roms that in my room at home the wifi signal strength has only 1 bar while it has more bars with nightowl KK (or up) rom. I guess it is caused by the newer wifi driver (?) Maybe it is worth to integrate this driver too. Anyway i love this ICS rom. It is so amazing fast and i want to thank you for your work!

HI! Tks for the kernel and rom!

Im testing the rom+kernel but Google services go crazy, drain battery, posible solution??
i had same issue. Freezing google play services helped. Play store isn't working any more but push notifications (whatsapp, signal) are still working :D Don't know a real solution.

Play services UPDATE

HI! Tks for the kernel and rom!

This was caused by recent Google Play Services app 9.2.56 with ICS.

Update to latest version 9.4.52 and all is good again :)

PD: Thanks forest for this ROM+Kernel combo, I'm loving it!!

It is clearly faster and more efficient in comparison with JB stock roms while using your JB kernel.
It will surely make my 5 y/old note keep going until I get my hands on Note4 later this year.

The ONLY CONS of ICS i've found as of yet are:

  • No multi screen support
  • No HD playback in YouTube app
  • Lack of support from some G apps (Inbox, Messenger)

Everything else just rocks my world. THANK YOU FOREST!! :D

So I was bored and decided to see if I could circumvent the CONS I've mentioned, mostly by using Xposed Framework.

Here is what I've come up with:

Multi-screen support
I've found that installing Xposed framework with the XHaloFloatingWindow and MultiWindowSidebar combo (plus Tasker shortcut for Sidebar toggle with "Back" key) brings exactly the same JB feature back, with the added bonus of rezizable flotating app windows :D

Links:
Tasker
XHaloFloatingWindow
MultiWindowSidebar

YouTube HD Playback:
While I could not find an app for this, I've settled with using the official app for casual streaming and downloading the video file in HD when the quality is actually needed.
For this I use One Tap Video Download + Youtube Xposed Module in order for the link to be presented as a notification when I open the video in YouTube app.
So it's one tap to download, one tap to play :)

I've yet to find an alternative for using Inbox on ICS. For now Gmail will have to do

I have a few questions:
1. Is there an toggle "turn on screen when connecting/disconnecting power source" (i need it to be off because my phone keeps saying its charging and then it isnt. Like someone is flicking a switch that makes it charge or not)
2. Can i play Pokemon on it :)
