- Unzip the file on the computer with odin ( you get a .tar.md5 file)
- Shutdown mobile
- Start mobile in odin mode (push together: volume down + home + power, when confirmation screen appears, push *vol up to confirm)
- Launch Odin
- Connect phone by USB (Odin will display *"Added", if it works and com port should be listed)
- In Odin options you only need Autoreboot checked
- Click on AP choose the *.tar.md5 unzipped previously
- Wait that odin checks the file (can take a few seconds and odin can freeze during that time, just wait)
- Click on Start
Odin will flash the image and reboot

As usual, use at your own risk ;)

So I flashed this to my K Zoom and all seems OK. I am grateful for you taking the trouble to develop for this device. I am no newbie but I hope you can give me an idea on what improvements I should expect from this updated kernel ;)
.
better faster stronger scooter ? ;)
more seriously, it's 2000+ commits merged from 3.4.39 to 3.4.95

errr, yeah, it's a bigger number too ! ;P
a bit difficult to summarize.
Here is the changelog if you are looking for something in particular:
http://downloads.timduru.org/android/kzoom/katkernel/Tim_KZoom_KatKernel-3.4.95_004b.changelog.txt

O3 + Linaro should bring a bit more speed and responsiveness too, that also means better battery life.
In addition to that I've added the few new ioscheduler, bfq is default and governors.
a few parameters changed too.

will see where it goes from here ;)
The Kzoom doesn't really seem to be a popular device though so far sadly.

Yay! Bigger numbers :) Seriously, thanks for the information though and it does help me a lot.

When you say the K Zoom doesn't seem to be popular, do you mean based on reviews or just inactivity here? I think because there is no dedicated forum to this phone it's difficult to gauge how people are finding the device. I for one love it and from reviews I have read they seem positive. I really can't fault it for the price.

I mean inactivity here, yep,
maybe it will take time and get better if/ when it gets its own forum...

thanks so much for the root

about the kernel it has the radio drivers and so on ..right?

because my c115 is on another region Middle East (United arab Emartes) so the root kernel is for europe ?

am asking because in previous galaxy phones rooting with a kernel for another region made my device heat up and drain the battery more untill i flash the stock firmware again with the compatible kernel/region drivers

am i right ??

kernel : 3.4.39-1522600
built no.: kot49h.c115xxu1ane1
