@timduru

First off i'll apologize, it is not my intention to hijack your thread.

I was wondering if there might be anything you could do to help out the development of the AT&T Galaxy S4 ZOOM SM-C105A
it is similar to the C101A but has LTE.

I ask because i've had this device for months now and there is 0/Zero Development for the said device.

We do have root but that is where it ends there is a CWMR image for the C101A but it is not only Japanese/or Chinese but it is also non-compatible withe the LTE version "SM-C105A"

I'm hoping that if not you maybe you atleast know of someone who could/would lend a hand

I've been using your kernels and Roms on my TF for Well a long time and lets just say I'm Blown away at your skillset.

if it will help I do have Full DD dumps of my clean yet rooted C105A JB 4.2.2 Stock Factory Image

Thanks in Advance

Not planned to do dév on that nope.
it's quite a pain to do dév when you don't have the device.
Even with the C115, unless maybe it gets a forum here, it has such a low exposure / popularity that it makes it difficult to really organise/do things for it.
Maybe when I'm really bored I'll make KatKiss for it, but for the moment I'm already too busy making KatKiss for the TF101 and TF300T-TF200. :)

With the root, you can make all changes you need and remove all apps, even system apps...so the answer is "yes".

New Version V005

Download :
Tim_KZoom_KatKernel-3.4.104_005.zip

ChangeLog :
- upgrade from 3.4.95 to latest kernel.org 3.4.104

Also Added KZoom CWM Recovery in the 2nd post

I've added initial support for BLN in a test kernel,
but not sure if it works fine, it seems to require a specific rom side liblight.so too...
So not sure it would be useful unless we update with a new lib.

Ok thanks for the update flashing now the bln will be nice as it's a good feature to have with us not having a notification light let's hope things pick up if a proper zoom thread apears

Great work btw

Just tested bln obviously it didn't work as you say if you need a tester down the line I'm up for helping ;)
Ah the BLN test is not included into the V005 I posted since it didn't work, it was in a test kernel I made on the side ;)
Here is the BLN one if you want to test: http://downloads.timduru.org/android/kzoom/katkernel/test/Tim_KZoom_KatKernel-3.4.104_BLN-t1.zip
BLN App detects kernel support with that one it seems but then complains about liblights that does not include BLN support.

Ah right thanks I'm not sure what liblights means is it something to do with Sammy kernel not having them or something :silly:

sorry your the master I'd just help test if you didn't have the device lol

It's made to be flashed via ODIN yep.

K.A.T app will install on the KZoom but , Audio won't work and will need adjustments. ;)
Looking at it, it shouldn't be that complicated, and wow the KZoom has many options,
just considering the volumes, that's already a bunch ;)
And there's quite some volume increase possible :)
Speaker is only 80 by default but can go up to 127 :)

KZoom's Audio HAL tends to reinit its level on first play with an app though, just like the TF300T , bummer.
So that would mean pushing again the K.A.T app volume slider to set it back after you start an app :)
But besides that once I modify the app to auto-detect the kzoom chip specifics,
that should be nice to have :)

Very confused..

Im sorry, but what is the difference between this rooting method and file and the one from this thread:
http://www.samsungsfour.com/tutorials/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-k-zoom-using-cf-auto-root.html

And what about the other rotting method by ddevey using the Chainfire Auto Root for Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N7505 that supposedly works perfect for the Galaxy K Zoom?
http://androidforums.com/k-zoom-all-things-root/855274-rooted.html

And is the CWM Recovery from the 1st post confirmed working?

Really confused and unfortunately there is not an organized section or forums added for the K Zoom to keep all things net and in place.. I just got my K Zoom today and dont want kill it by mistake before I even try to use it:p

Thanks again for the input..

This thread is about a new updated custom kernel with different enhancements and updated to 3.4.104.
(see first post for main stuff)

It also contains the autoroot method.
The method will auto-reroot the system in place everytime if somethiing remove the su binary.
So you could simply flash a new samsung /system update (not flashing the stock kernel of course as to not overwrite this one)
Then just reboot and it'll be rooted automatically.

CF-Autoroot for Galaxy note 3 is using a root method through the note3 recovery/kernel,
while it should work ok to root, you'd better reinstall a KZoom recovery / kernel after doing so I think.
You will also have to reroot manually everytime , and well it doesn't install a new kernel or fixes like this one, it's just for root.

If you want just root I've also made a stock kernel with autoroot and sd card fix.

Yes tested by myself, and a few others in other threads:

Yeah shame there are no dedicated forum.
There's a thread there trying to organise the most important info:

Yes, the fix is included if you flash this kernel.
Non system apps with media permission will be able to access the MicroSD.
Thanks much:)

I have flashed CWM Recovery but cant get into it. What is the key press sequence to enter the recovery? Ive tried all sorts of combinations and only get, a black screen, a normal reboot, or nothing at all..

Volume up + Home + power.
You can release power once you see the logo, while still holding volume up and home, otherwise the phone could turn back off again.

Black screen issue can occur as indicated in post #2, especially after flashing.
Just make sure you reboot into the rom, then shutdown, then try again.
Maybe try also to reflash in case something didn't work properly.
But sometime it can take 2-3 tries before it goes through. Not sure why.

But I didn't get the black screen issue for a while if I just shutdown , then boot into the recovery with the key combination.
It goes right into CWM.
