Re: [KERNEL][Feb12] ElementalX-Xoom-v0.4 | OC | UV | GPU OC | ZRAM | SWEEP2WAKE

I'm usually skeptical of custom kernels, but against my better judgement decided to flash this before this morning's coffee kicked in. Nice work. Love the gesture wake, as now I can truly use the Xoom with one hand (an essential with a 4 month old resting in 1 arm), still experimenting with governors. Big thanks to dreamcwli for making the source code available and to flar2 for taking this a step further.

So far the interactivex2 seems to be on top as far as user experience goes. Lagfree is good, but definitely stutters in game play. Overclocked to 1.5 with this governor is really snappy. Angry birds hasn't frozen up yet either on this governor.

Hi, flar2

Can you apply changes committed on February 11 in my repo to fix Wi-Fi tethering for stingray and umts_everest users?

Yes, I will do that, thank you for the work you've done keeping the xoom alive.

I'm preoccupied a bit with another kernel right now (source was just released today) but I will definitely continue working on this.

Smartassv2 is the new favorite. Shortly after I posted the quote above, my Xoom froze and had to be rebooted. I think there is a bug in the interactive governor for the Xoom - haven't had success with this yet.

Im getting another xoom in a few days. This has really got me interested as ive been running a playbook and a HOX, both with s2w function, and am looking foward to having this on my new xoom.

Keep up the good work, ill be following and reporting as things progress.

Thanks all, I should have a chance to work on this over the weekend. I will add dreamcwli's latest changes.

USB OTG seems not working!!

I flash back to eos v4, USB OTG is working.

p.s. Fat32
I tested thumb drives formatted to fat32 and ntfs and both worked. I also tested hooking up a mouse and a gamepad, all working well. I was using My Android rom.

I would like to test on EOS 4 this weekend. And when I have a chance, I'd like to get this kernel working on CM as well.

My Android 4.2 use different mount point for USB storage from EOS 4. I have updated the device config so please sync with the device repo to make it work with all ROMs.

Any chance you can throw Stingray users a bone? :)

Try the new version: http://goo.gl/6W2DE

I'm still confused by the kernel situation on this device, there are a few different sources, all patched up in crazy ways.

I'm not even quite sure what the differences are between wingray, stingray and everest.

For usb drives over OTG on EOS 4, you can use stickmount for now

Android 4.2 breaks some interfaces to communicate with kernel. To fix Bluetooth and Wi-Fi tethering we backported many changes from kernel 3.0 as we are still using kernel 2.6.39. I tried to keep whole commit history so you will see more commits for fixing Wi-Fi tethering than other developers. Porting kernel 3.x to Xoom can avoid things like that but it will be a great challenge.
