Yeah, patch the ramdisk like before and then fastboot flash it

Is there any chances for this kernel to work with Honor 8 Pro as it is also a kirin 960 device. The kernel is labelled as treble so I am hoping it could work with with.

Yes, it shares the same chipset, etc. So it shouldn't be a problem... Have you're stock kernel IMG in case it doesn't.

Unfortunately, this is for the kirin 960 devices... Don't think it will work.

Dear Mr.Wirmpolter, is it possible for you to make this kernel with UMS mode function (USB mass storage mode)? UMS mode is much better than Mtp mode.
Copying file between pc and phone, will change the time stamp of files, but UMS will keep the time stamp of files. And UMS mode is much fast and stable
then MTP mode. If this function is workable in your kernel, I'd like to pay by Paypal. Thank you very much.

Something down the road I might be able to do...I currently don't own a p20...so it would make it rather difficult for me to actually build a proper working kernel for it without being able to test it.

For your reference, actually, what I need is the UMS driver support in the kernel. To activate the UMS function, there is a special APP:

But if there is no UMS driver support, this software won't be workable.
This UMS driver is available in Huawei p9plus or any other models with EMUI 4.1 or lower version.

Regarding the UMS (USB mass storage function, connect pc and turn Micro SD card in photo to be a removable flash disk on PC), which is much better than MTP function.
I found for all Huawei devices with EMUI4.1 or earlier, this function is workable. But from EMUI5.0, this function seems not workable any more.
I compared the files in EMUI4.1 and EMUI5.0 (or up), and found in EMUI4.1 or lower version, there is such a folder

"/sys/devices/ff200000.hisi_usb" including all sub-folders, like:
"/sys/devices/ff200000.hisi_usb/ff100000.dwc3/gadget/lun0".

But from EMUI5.0 (including EMUI8.0), this folder is no longer existed. So would you please kindly extract this folder from EMUI4.1 or earlier version, and insert it into
this kernel?

@WirmpolterI flashed it on my Vtr P10, it booted without problems but the only 2 things that aren't woking are wifi and Bluetooth, I guess because the drivers...
There's a possibility to compile a test version for our device?
