Re: |KERNEL| SOAPKernel>>AOSP>>2 || 1920mhz ||3.0.68|| 3|11

Wantrd to report back that I'm beyond impressed with this kernel. I'm currently on Carbon nightly (13 March) and I can't drain this battery for the life of me.

Extremely stable and smooth. Very happy with the battery life.

Great work.

Thank you for that. I appreciate it

I figured I'd let you know in case it was something you wanted/needed to fix. I'm running this kernel on the latest PAC-man. Working great, but the one thing I noticed is I can't change the min/max frequencies with either of the built in Performance sections (yes, it has two). AnTuTu still works great though, and I tend to run at stock anyways.

I'm also unable to change any frequencies. On rootbox.

There is an edit I will make to make it read/writable from stock performance apps. In the mean time, CPU master is great

any chance you can add in Lulzactiveq? sounds cool!

Lulzactiveq is a modified lulzactive governor authored by XDA member robertobsc and is adapted in Siyah kernel for GS2 and GS3. Lulzactiveq aims to optimize the second version of luzactive from Tegrak by a) providing an extra parameter (dec_cpu_load) to make scaling down more sensible, and b) incorporating hotplug logic to the governor. Luzactiveq is the first ever interactive based governor with hotplugging logic inbuilt (atleast the first of its kind for the exynos platform). When CPU comes out of idle loop and it's time to make a scaling decision, if load >= inc_cpu_load CPU is scaled up (like original luzactiveq) and if load <dec_cpu_load, CPU is scaled down. This possibly eliminates the strict single cut-off frequency for luzactiveq to make CPU scaling decisions. Also, stand hotplug logic runs as a separate thread with the governor so that external hotplugging logic is not required to control hotplug in and out (turn On and Off) CPU cores in multi core devices like GS2 or GS3. Only a multi core aware governor makes real sense on muti-core devices. Lulzactiveq and pegasusq aims to do that.

I'm using Rom Toolbox for my frequencies, for now.

I'd also like to second that this kernel has been amazing for battery life. Running PAC-man ROM with hotplug and deadline (odd combo, I know, but it works for me), and I'm seeing better battery life than I did on any other kernel or rom-- AOSP or Stock.

The pegasusq implemented is much better in handling every need IMO especially after the countless mods that have made to it in my kernel. I will look at it though

Ok I'm going to go full retard for a moment here so bear with me... LOL!

  • Running CM10.1 Nightlies also have STweaks loaded
  • Backed Up System
  • Flashed
  • Booted
  • Let sit
  • Opened STweaks and says "No Kernel Support"
  • Opened CM Performance Options, No adjustment to clock speeds

I'm not trying to be difficult and this isn't my first rodeo, but where the heck did I go wrong?

System Info:
  • CM10.1 Nightlies
  • I605 (obviously)
  • Kernel: 3.0.68-CM-g04aea09
  • CWM for recovery

Did I miss anything?

You didn't do anything wrong. The dev mentioned he's going to add the ability to adjust clock speed with built-in performance control. I wasn't able to use built-in but apparently setcpu works among others.

Running latest kernel with PACman and woke up to a dead phone, which makes no sense, especially when you look at my battery...

Any idea how it could go from approx 75%-0% so quickly? And with no log...
