So i tested marshmallow a little bit, but i don't see any big advantages, apart from a little speed up. Some things are even worse like the task manager... (secrurity updates are no bug deal for me)

Probably the wrong place to ask this but here goes. Do you know how to work with configs in the 32.1.A.0.xxx branch? Previously there were device configs to build directly. Now there's only a diffconfig folder with small platform configs. None of the base configs match any of the previous ones though. Never seen a setup like this.

Follow the instructions in the README.XPERIA.

Export Diffconfig=common_diffconfig.
Export Diffconfig=suzuran_diffconfig.

Then, make 8994-perf defconfig.

The Readme is lacking some instructions, and i'm unable to get a working Image. The stock Image is uncompressed, but Sony writes one should use the compressed version, which then refuses to boot. I'll see if i can figure things out.

Image.gz-dtb vs image on ll.

AndroPlus on Z5 board seems to be rooted with twrp successfully. Give them a look.

LoL don't ask me, I'm using LG G3 on stock MM to reply this thread now. G3 MM is doing quite good indeed.

I managed to get my build booting. Sony really messed up the Readme. MM brought big changes, it will take some time to get everything correctly running.

Would reverting the offending commit make things easier ?

ARM64: add option to build Image.gz/dtb combo

Allows a defconfig to set a list of dtbs to concatenate with an
    Image.gz to create a Image.gz-dtb.

Any time schedule yet? Can we expect to get it or beta after few days? :D
I've currently got some big issues. Somehow my buillds refuse to boot again.
I really lost motivation, this isn't the first time Sony messed things up.

Plus, i got a new laptop to replace my old desktop, on which one kernel build would take up to 30 min.
I can't tell you when things will be done, but i'll need at least a week or so.

I want to build a kernel by myself but stuck with getting a ramdisk file .... Could anyone here tell me how I can "easily get the ramdisk-file for our device? How to extract it from the kernel?

edit: found a way to do it with the build-tools from andro-plus kernel

SSHD. SSD is too expensive. But i plan to replace it with a 1TB SSD in some years.
Seagate,? I'm running a Seagate SSHD too, because I need to dualboot win XP and 7 for car remapping. I installed quite a few SSD's lately (my wife's laptop, and some other family) and again and again flabbergasted by the performance it delivers. Would result in faster build times instantly.

Why don't u use a smaller SSD and a external USB 3.0 harddisk?

Maybe we can donate some and help u get one! then I would like to see a Zombie kernel for E6653 also :p as I finally found some time to unlock my bootloader lol.

Yep, Seagate. I decided to put the money in a GTX970 and i7 6700. But storage is quite important, i'll definitly get a SSD sooner or later.

If i get a M build running, a build for Z5 will follow.

You can take a rest now but I'll still wait for your custom kernel later. AndroPlus just made a kernel for us and I already rooted Z5c MM successfully with TWRP3. Tested even the xposed and drm patch still working good(3200iso no color noise), service menu reported drm key is there.

I think you can just leave the CPU to stock 1.5/2G bcoz some may want to get best performance out. I've just installed Kernel Adiutor on playstore and it supports our SD810 to adjust big.LITTLE core individually, I set 1344mhz for little and 1440mhz for big and used PerfMon to confirm sticky with 1.3/1.4G(sometimes will restore to 1.5/2G for a sec but then will set back to 1.3/1.4G by Kernel Adiutor so 99% of time is working).

For those who want underclock to reduce heat and better battery, you can just recommend them to use Kernel Adiutor and run PerfMon to check for working status.
