Yes (except older JB leaks)

Good question not sure

No. This is not just the kernel. All kernels for the n7000 include a custom recovery except for CFRoot kernel.

I checked both the tar and the zip: only difference is that the zip has 2 files called update-binary and updater-script, but I'm fairly sure that doesn't have anything to do with recovery, so I guess the tar does come with cwm as well. Thanks for your help.

Is the brickbug fix present in the recovery as well? I read somewhere that recoveries also have a kernel of their own and haven't found whether cwm5 includes the fix or not.
(Just to make sure if I can safely wipe data from the cwm that comes with SpeedMod)
Thanks.

Your statements are backwards. But yes, speedmod recovery is safe.

It's always so much harder when you have to try (David Gray).

The ones you choose. Better/Best questions and threads are against the XDA rules. Maybe you should spend a few minutes reading them at least one time.

@hardcore are you still here ?
Would you please update the recovery ?
Perhaps I'm wrong but I think there are new sources.
Use CoH kernel

Hardcore has been asked this (by me personally) multiple times and hasn't responded. He seems to love CWM5.8 which doesn't even have a preload backup option.

Android Firewall doesn't work on COH.

And COH developer did not reply to my PMs either

yeah, don't know what to say. sorry man...

What I used to do (before CoH existed) was I would run speedmod, and have PhilZ available on my root sd card. I would flash philz anytime I needed to use recovery, reboot recovery... then re-flash speedmod.... pain in the ass
