Re: [KERNEL] SpeedMod N7000 Jelly Bean [K5-1 CWM CIFS ROOT / NO-ROOT]

yes i know that. what i meant was i wil have to flash back a TW rom to use this.

but now i am on linaro asylum 4.2.2. In terms of speed, battery life is it worth it for me to revert back to TW rom and flash this speed mod kernel?

will there be big differences or the same thing?
So which is smoother, have u tried? Waiting for ur feedback....

Hi guys,

This is the SpeedMod kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Jelly Bean.
This kernel is only for Samsung JB ROMs.
Thank you for your great work! I've waited too long to see ur kernel ! ^_^ This kernel is the most perfect kernel I've flashed ! & always wait the next version of this kernel ! Thanks again !

Don't make it hard..if you on nonTW rom just make nandroid backup flash TW rom and flash speedmod kernel...

If you already on TW make nandroid backup and flash it...test it your self...

Everything is work well on this kernel just need newer recovery...waiting for update..super good work..:)

Used for 2 days. No bugs or problem discover so far.
Clearly smoother and faster than stock kernel. Thanks!
Look forward to update with more governors

Be careful guys, any cwm backups done using phils kernel and the new format won't work with the company version in this tom
So I suggest always keeping a copy of phils kernel on your sd card just in case

For me on team union lsz rom is slower from stock. I don't know why. I try tegrak overclock on 1.5 but stil is slow. On 1.6 have reboot. Batery is notvbetter from stock. I will try in other roms to see if have better results. Why not cwm 6.0.xx or this kernel recovery; is not compatible with backups with new cwm

Hello. This kernel is dual boot? I want to use it to boot my jb tw rom from internal sd card.
No, you have to water cool the processor first this adds dual booting.

On the other hand, great kernel hardcore. Confirmed working on Ultimate ROM

Please do not compare or ask the performance between Speedmod and Philz's kernel.
Speedmod is a system performance tweaked and optimized kernel that compiled from Samsung source code, that's the big difference. :cowboy:

In this statement in the S3 forum hardcore explains why he doesn't use exFat.
Thank you very much for this Information ThaiDai. I could never guess that this was a developer's choice. Having a lot of respect for Hardcore's work, I'm not going to ask him to reconsider his choice.

However, I would like to mention that for me the greatest progress on my Note's software these latest months was related to :
  • stock file system that supports files >4GB (that is exfat support, starting from the first 4.1.2 leaks. Besides, it is faster than fat32 for transferring files from my PC)
  • awesome cwm recovery that behaves as a mini os (6.2.0.8 with phil's extensions)
Obviously, Hardcore's vision is quite the opposite, so -no matter what the advantage of using his kernel might be- I leave this thread definitely.

OK. It's individual's need and choice. For example for me its work to needs. Best performance and unbelievable battery life.
But believe me: each is master piece.
