It worked for me and the triangle disappeared. However, the custom kernel counter did not reset.
I used the stock kernel from Samsfirmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325823

For some reason I needed the zImage to put in a .tar in order to flash with odin.
Never the less.
After flashing I used the Chainfire method 1.2 to root and put CWM.
I lost both, the triangle and the binary counter as well.
So, I'm very surprised but also very happy.

I don't know what happened but after two restarts the counter showed up again.

I found what happend.
If you use CWM to go to download mode the counter doesn't show.
If you use the button combo it do show.
