Very weird I am using Arura Rom and I have NO such issue
Did you backup stock kernel?
If you had try to restore boot img only and see if it is really a kernel issue
wipe everything flash rom dont reboot, flash beastmode kernel then reboot and setup phone and such.
Ok so to be clear on this - this issue occurs *only* with BeastMode kernel. If I flash the stock kernel it works again until I flash BeastMode again at which point it stops working once more.

So yes - in short: this is likely not *caused* by the kernel but is almost certainly an issue triggered by something in the kernel.

still wipe and flash like I proposed. then you'll know for sure.

great kernel, at rest is a beast, spend the minimum, the perfect wakelocks blocker and the double touch to turn on the screen a wonder, that this does not change with the updates, I am using the r12, my congratulations to the creator, a crack

Haven't install yet but doubletap2wake sounds REALLY REALLY GOOD! Always wanted this feature on Samsung phones.
Doesn't the pressure sensitive area at the bottom of the screen doing the same (and I would argue it's even better + you can control how hard you should press to activate)? :p

Edit: @freeza , can I ask you something? I guess you read in the past the anandtech articles about the exynos behaviour, the slow frequency scaling up and so on, leading to lower real world performance vs the snapdragon 845, higher power consumption and ofc microstutters. There is a reason why everybody who got the both phones returned the exynos stating it's massive difference to the point they did not expected it to be so big.

My question is, why no one really tried to fix it in a custom kernel? Note 9 is relatively new, but s9/s9+ are up for ages and not a single kernel try to change the behaviour to atleast match what Andrei from anandtech did himself or even improve on top of it (after all I highly doubt he polished it to the absolute max, it was not needed to prove his point). I remember a lot of phones in the past with massive changes about the SOC control algorithms(CPU, GPU, bus, memory, hotplug, dvfs, etc.) and I would consider that as one of the top most valuable point to fix for a custom kernel for 9810. Is it too hard to do so/impossible or there is maybe something different that is roadblocking that direction of changes?

This is by no means a request, just value your opinion as you understand the matter over 9000 times more than me. Cheers! ^^

Hi All,

Flashed the Kernel everything is looking good. Thanks OP for this amazing kernel, appreciate the initiative and efforts.

Just one question, the changes I make in MTweaks dont stick, changes like enabling d2w, OC'ing the CPU Frequency just reset as soon as I move to other options. Also where do I see the RGB or KCal controls. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

U can turn MTweaks into system app by Titanium Backup

Hi Alexis

I believe you cannot systemize an app using titanium backup in Android 8.1, you need to use Magisk with the module "App systemizer" and install on "/system/privapp"

Hello.
Is it possible to tweak this kernel to use Drivedroid ?
Or is the problem with Drivedroid not only the kernel on the newest Androids.
